Tajani: Libyan file is a priority for migration issue and the stability of the entire region

Rome – Italian Foreign Minister, Antonio Tajani, said that his country is working hard on the Libyan file which is a priority for the issue of migration and the stability of the entire region.

Tajani explained during a press conference in Rome about priorities of the Italian foreign policy and his government is working to hold the elections and enhance the national unity in Libya, highlighting that negotiations are under way about the Libyan Coast Guard with patrol boats to fight human traffickers.

“We are waiting for making a network that will be beneficial to Libya’s stability”, he added.

German Ambassador to Libya: European training to empower Libyan youth economically.

Tripoli – German Ambassador to Libya, Michael Ohnmacht, expressed his admiration for non-governmental European work in training Libyan youth, especially “Supernovae” organization.

Ohnmacht said in a tweet, “it’s great to see that NGO “Supernovae” is empowering Libyan youth economically, through trainings and job opportunities.

“Germany is proud to support Supernovae through EU funding, and young people are key for the future in Libya”, he added.

Minister of Oil and Gas receives the Indonesian ambassador to Libya

Tripoli- Minister of Oil and Gas, Mohamed Aoun, received at the ministry’s office in Tripoli, the Indonesian ambassador to Libya, Didi Ahmed Rifai, and his accompanying delegation.

The Ministry’s Information and Communication Office stated, Monday, that the minister explained to the ambassador the history of the oil and gas sector in Libya, as well as an overview of the Libyan oil law and its stages of development, which clarifies the role and tasks of the ministry and its relationship with the National Oil Corporation and the institutions of other countries.

The minister touched on the development of the oil and gas sector and the ministry’s vision in this regard, stressing the brotherly bonds between the two countries and the importance of international companies with expertise to contribute to the development and exploration of land and sea areas that have not yet been explored, and the possibility of benefiting between the two countries in developing cadres and exchanging expertise in the Oil and gas sector.

For his part, the ambassador stressed the importance of increasing cooperation between Indonesia and Libya, stressing his country’s aspiration to increase cooperation, urging the need to continue meetings between the two sides for the benefit of the two countries.

The meeting was attended by the director of the minister’s office, “Abdul Bari Quneidi,” the advisor “Ahmed Al-Ghaber,” and “Asim Mohammad Abu Zaid,” the director of the Office of International Relations and Cooperation.

Celebration in Tripoli of the launch of the United Nations framework for cooperation in the field of tripartite development 2023-2025

Tripoli, December 13, 2022 (LANA) – Today, Tuesday, the launch of the implementation of the United Nations framework for cooperation in the field of tripartite development 2023-2025 was celebrated in Tripoli, in the presence of the head of the national unity government, Abdul Hamid al-Dabaiba, the Special Envoy of the United Nations Secretary-General to Libya, Abdullah Batili, and a number of Ministers and ambassadors of some countries accredited to Libya.

In his speech at the ceremony, Al-Dabaiba affirmed his support for any international and local cooperation within a clear framework and clear objectives, stressing the need to define priorities and needs by the various Libyan institutions, and organize the file of partnership and support according to specific timetables, as quoted by the media office of the Prime Minister of National Unity.

In conclusion, Al-Dabaiba expressed his happiness at meeting the United Nations in the field of development and partnership, and that the meetings were not limited to preventing wars and political discussions.

For his part, the Designated Minister of Planning, Muhammad Al-Zaidani, stressed in a speech on the occasion, the importance of the event that organizes cooperation between agencies working with the United Nations and its organizations and the government according to a tripartite plan.

In turn, Batili expressed his happiness with the organized cooperation that is taking place between the United Nations and the national unity government within the sustainable development goals, according to the media office.

The National Oil Corporation is discussing the resumption of activities of Repsol in Libya

Tripoli, December 13, 2022 (LANA) – The National Oil Corporation discussed with the Spanish company Repsol the resumption of the company’s activity in Libya, especially after the corporation announced the lifting of force majeure.

This came during a meeting of the KPC Exploration Department yesterday, Monday, with officials of the Spanish company Repsol.

The NOC stated on its Facebook page that the meeting discussed the projects and technical programs completed by the company with regard to exploration and reconnaissance programs for the year 2022, and the proposed and planned programs for the year 2023 with regard to seismic survey programs, exploratory drilling, and geological and geophysical studies.

Ministry of Oil: The Council of Ministers of the Organization of “OPEC” decides to write off Libya’s debts

Tripoli, 13 December, 2022 (LANA) – The Council of Ministers of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) has decided to write off the accumulated debts owed by the State of Libya, estimated at about 20 million Libyan dinars.

This came during the participation of the Minister of Oil and Gas, Mohammed Aoun, accompanied by the representative of Libya to the Executive Council of the Organization, Counselor Adel Jibril, in the 109th meeting of the “OPEC” Council of Ministers in the State of Kuwait, the organization’s headquarters.

The Ministry of Oil stated in a post on its Facebook account today that the Libyan delegation provided an explanation of the circumstances of the accumulated debts, and a decision was taken to drop them.

During the meeting, decisions were taken regarding many issues, including approving the organization’s budget for the next year, discussing work to re-study the organization’s charter, and working to upgrade it to an organization that deals with all energies, including renewable energies, according to the Ministry’s publication.
