3 Falcons Sold for SAR266,000 at Saudi Falcons Club Auction

Riyadh, November 1, 2023, SPA – Three falcons were sold for a total of SAR266,000 on the 20th night of the auction, which is being held in Riyadh until November 15.

The auction witnessed a large turnout of falcon enthusiasts and breeders from the Kingdom and the region.

The three falcons are young peregrines. They were sold for SAR137,000, SAR75,000, and SAR54,000.

The auction aims to support falconry investment, develop falcon auctions, and regulate the buying and selling of falcons. It also provides a range of benefits to falcon breeders.

It is broadcast live on television channels and is streamed live through the club’s social media platforms.

Youth Minister, Indian Ambassador discuss cooperation

Manama, Rawan bint Najeeb Tawfiqi, Minister of Youth Affairs, received Vinod Kurian Jacob, the newly appointed Indian Ambassador to Bahrain.

The meeting discussed ways to strengthen cooperation, particularly in the youth sector through providing joint programs and initiatives.

The minister praised the deep longstanding Bahraini-Indian relations, wishing the Indian Ambassador success in carrying out his duties.

The ambassador affirmed his country’s keenness to expand bilateral cooperation.

Health Minister Meets with Owners of Hospitals and Small Enterprises

Riyadh, The Minister of Health, Fahd bin Abdulrahman Al-Jalajel, met with the owners of hospitals and small enterprises within the agenda of the Global Health Exhibition.

Al-Jalajel urged hospital and small business owners to take advantage of the exhibition to expand investment opportunities in the areas of technology, RandD, and digital health solutions to raise the calibre and effectiveness of services, medical education, and training, to foster workforce development through financial support.

In order to accomplish the goals of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030, which is concerned with the health sector transformation programme, he stated that the private sector’s contributions to the GDP will reach SAR145 billion by 2030. He highlighted the significant and stimulating investment volume the market enjoys in the Kingdom. He explained how investing in the health sector and keeping up with medical innovations and technologies contribute to the development of public health.

Global Cybersecurity Forum Starts Tomorrow in Riyadh Under the Auspices of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques

Riyadh, The third Global Cybersecurity Forum (GCF) starts tomorrow in Riyadh under the auspices of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.

Organized by the National Cybersecurity Authority and the Saudi Information Technology Company (SITE), this year’s Forum is being held under the theme “Charting Shared Priorities in Cyberspace”. The action-oriented platform will address the most pressing challenges in Cyberspace, exploring their impact on industries and sectors including supply chains and smart cities. The Forum aims to both raise awareness on the challenges and explore comprehensive solutions, encouraging multi-stakeholder collaboration on an international scale.

The event will be attended by industry experts, decision makers, CEOs, and high-level representatives across government and academic sectors, as well as prominent international companies from over 120 countries.

It will also see the launch of several initiatives and international projects that will contribute to strengthening international cooperation, as well as enabling socioeconomic development in the Kingdom and the rest of the world.

The Forum will map shared priorities in Cyberspace through a series of discussions and sessions on strategic topics related to cybersecurity, with a focus on five sub-themes: Cyberspace amidst polycrisis; Cyber growth unlocked; Across cyber divides; Inside cyber minds; and emerging cyber horizons.

As these priorities foster joint action focusing on vital and strategic issues in cyberspace, the Global Cybersecurity Forum Institute (GCFI) will stimulate continuous dialogue among various partners, and support related projects over the coming months to consolidate the concept of international cooperation and partnership, expressed in the GCFI objectives. The Institute is also focused on unlocking opportunities in Cyberspace that can stimulate development and prosperity, as well as strengthen the position of the Kingdom as a global leader in this vital and promising sector, building on its regional and global achievements to date.

The Global Cybersecurity Forum has become a platform for decision makers, experts and specialists in vital and strategic sector issues that aims to open broad horizons for knowledge transfer and exchange of expertise, explore opportunities for cooperation, support international efforts, unify joint efforts, and stimulate socioeconomic development in the sector.

‘TARSHID’ Launches Energy Efficiency Project in KAFD

Riyadh, The National Energy Services Company, TARSHID, and King Abdullah Financial District Management and Development Company (KAFD DMC) have signed a contract to initiate the detailed study required for 9 buildings. This project aims to increase energy efficiency and reduce energy consumption in the buildings, which are prominent within the district. The collaboration between the two companies intends to strengthen energy conservation efforts and implement sustainable energy efficiency solutions in buildings across the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, aligning with the goals of Vision 2030.

TARSHID will conduct field surveys and technical studies for the targeted buildings and facilities. Based on the study’s findings, the company will provide recommendations on the most effective energy-saving solutions. The energy efficiency project will encompass four towers and five facilities, focusing on the following expected measures: lighting replacement, air handling unit optimization, and these measures will result in increased energy efficiency and reduced consumption within the addressed facilities.

Located in the heart of Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia, KAFD features 1.6 million square meters of state-of-the-art office space, world-class facilities, and iconic luxury residences designed to transform how urban communities live, work, and play. TARSHID’s mission evolves around serving the strategic sustainability goals of the Kingdom, derived from Vision 2030, which aims to achieve significant energy savings and reduce carbon emissions. TARSHID primarily focuses on improving energy efficiency in government and private buildings and facilities, targeting a total of 19,116 buildings. Since its establishment in 2017 until the end of Q2 2023, the company has achieved a reduction of 6.4 terawatt-hours per year across various projects, equivalent to 10.3 million barrels of oil equivalent (BoE), while avoiding 3.7 million metric tons of harmful emissions. This environmental impact is equivalent to planting more than 61.5 million trees.

Saudi Arabia Chairs SMIIC Meeting

Makkah, Meetings of the Board of Directors of the Standards and Metrology Institute for Islamic Countries (SMIIC) continue sessions between October 30 and November 1 at the Hilton Makkah Convention Hotel.

The events included the 26th meeting of the SMIIC Board of Directors, chaired by the Governor of the Saudi Standards Metrology and Quality Organization and Chairman of the SMIIC Board of Directors, Dr. Saad Al-Kasabi.

During his opening speech, Al-Kasabi said that during the Kingdom’s presidency, the institute had achieved successive steps to develop the joint strategic work of the SMIIC and activate the role of standardization activities in supporting and facilitating Islamic trade and improving the quality and safety of products and services in the member states, based on the directives of the wise leadership to work to enhance Islamic cooperation in all levels and fields, expressing appreciation for all for their confidence in the presidency of the Kingdom of the Board of Directors of the institute.

During the meetings, decisions and recommendations were taken in support of Islamic joint action to boost quality infrastructure and support the needs of member states to facilitate intra-Islamic trade and the access of their products to the global market.

The Kingdom’s hosting of the meetings highlights its pivotal role at the regional and international levels in promoting joint Islamic cooperation and action in all fields.

SMIIC seeks to develop standard specifications that ensure high-quality products and services for global use and guarantee the effective participation of stakeholders.
