Rail Chaos in Italy after Freight Train Derails

Rail commuters in Italy faced major disruption on Thursday after the wagon of a freight train derailed near a Florence station.

This led to the suspension of rail traffic between Florence and Bologna, affecting connections between the north and south of the country.

There was nobody injured in the incident, which occurred between Sesto Fiorentino and Firenze Castello, in the early hours of Thursday.

However there was significant damage caused to rail infrastructure. The accident has interrupted high-speed services between north and south Italy, including the Milan-Rome and Venice-Rome routes and on the Florence-Prato-Viareggio regional line.

Italian rail firm Trenitalia announced that at least 50 cancellations and delays of up to three hours, while other routes were diverted.

Dzhioev conveys South Ossetian President’s congratulations to President al-Assad on Eid al-Fitr

South Ossetian Foreign Minister Akhsar Dzhioev conveyed to Syria’s Ambassador in Moscow Dr. Bashar al-Ja’afari congratulations of his country’s head to President Bashar al-Assad on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr.

During the meeting held Thursday at the Syrian Embassy in Moscow, Dzhioevand and al-Ja’afari reviewed the development of bilateral ties, where the two sides have attached great importance on boosting bilateral cooperation on various levels, on top the economic and commercial ones.

President al-Assad receives more congratulatory cables from heads of Arab and foreign states on Independence Day

President Bashar al-Assad received more cables of congratulatory from kings and heads of Arab and foreign states on the 77th anniversary of the Independence Day, with the leaders wishing the country further stability and growth.

His excellency received cables from King of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan His Majesty King Abdullah II, Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro, King of Malaysia His Majesty Al Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al Mustafa Billah Shah, Vo Van Thuong the President of Vietnam, Nicaraguan President Daniel Ortega, along with Nicaragua’s Vice-President Rosario Murillo.

United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres also sent congratulatory cable to President al-assad on this occasion.

Many cables from other Arab and foreign leaders on this significant occasion were sent on April 17th to President al-Assad .

Al-Majd beats al-Wahda 3-2 within Syrian football first league

Syrian Al-Majd football team beat its counterpart al-Wahda 3-2 on Thursday in a match that was held at al-Jala stadium within the 15th round of the First League.

Sayah Nae’m scored two goals, Nidal Mohammad one goal for al-Majd, while Rami Amer scored two goals for al-Wahda.

With this win, al-Majd obtained 9 points in the 10th place, while al-Wahda remained in the 9th place.

Crimes of US-Saudi aggression on April 20

In a crime of genocide, at least 25 people were killed and 398 others, most of them women and children, were injured on April 20 2015 when the aggression warplanes targeted residential neighborhoods in Faj Attan and Hadda areas in the capital Sana’a.

13 citizens were killed and 12 others were wounded in the aggression’s raids targeted a sweets factory, a political security residence building, al-Buqa’ junction, al-Talh, and Haydan district in Sa’ada province.

The aggression’s warplanes launched raids on al-Aros mounts, Muhaidedah, al-Asha areas norhtern Sahar district and taregeted al-Jamemah area in Haydan district and al-Shawareq area in Razih district in Sa’ada province.

On this day in 2016, the aggression’s warplanes launched two raids on Wasit and al-Majawha areas in Nehm district of Sana’a province.

On April 20, 2017, three citizens were killed and three were injured in a raid targeted a house in al-Fayd area of al-Mutun district in Jawf province and a raid targeted a citizen’s house in Serwah district in Marib province, destroying it while the aggression’s mercenaries targeted separate areas in the same district with artillery shelling.

A citizen was killed and another was injured in a raid by the aggression on a farm in al-Zamah area of Baqim district in Sa’ada, a raid was launched on Mawshaj area in al-Khukhah district in Hodeida province, eight raids on Mawza’ district, three on Mocha intersection in Taiz province and 13 raids on Haradh and Midi districts in Hajjah province.

On April 20, 2018, five citizens were killed and others were injured in three raids by the aggression’s warplanes on Maran area in Haydan district, three raids were launched on Wadi Layah in al-Zahir district, destroying three houses, four raids on Baqim district and two raids on al-Ammar area in al-Safra district in Sa’ada.

The aggression’s warplanes committed a horrific massacre against citizens in Taiz province where 20 citizens were killed and others were injured in raids launched by the aggression warplanes on a car carrying citizens in al-Arish area of Mawza’ district.

The aggression’s warplanes also launched two raids on al-Suwadeyah district in Bayda province and two raids on Hays district in Hodeida and targeted a citizen’s farm in Fez area in Bakil a-Mir district in Hajjah, destroying a bulldozer and damage a farm.

On April 20, 2019, the aggression launched two raids on al-Nahdin area in the capital Sana’a, while the mercenaries targeted, with missile, artillery and machine-gun shelling, residential neighborhoods in al-Khamseen Street and al-Matar Street in Hodeidah, targeting farms and citizens’ properties in al-Tuhaita district, al-Awadi factories and Maeen zone in Kilo 16 area in al-Durayhimi district in Hodeida. The aggression’s warplanes launched three raids on the camp of the 130th Brigade in Dhale’ province.

On April, 20, 2019, the aggression’s warplanes launched 17 raids on Majzar district, 15 raids on Serwah district in Marib province, two raids on Khub Washa’af district in Jawf and a raid on Ketaf district in Sa’ada.

The mercenaries of the aggression also targeted, with artillery shelling, the village of al-Shajn on the outskirts of the city of al-Durayhimi, while a citizen was killed and another was wounded by snipers of the aggression forces in al-Alaba neighborhood in al-Saleh district of Taiz province.

Saudi missile and artillery bombardment targeted separate areas of Sheda district and populated villages in Razih district of Sa’ada, and the homes of citizens in al-Shaleel area of Qa’tabah district in Dhale’ were bombed with heavy weapons by the forces of aggression.

On April 20, 2021, the aggression’s warplanes launched 14 raids on Wadi Nakhlaa in Serwah district in Marib province while the spy warplanes launched two raids on Hays and al-Tuhaita district in Hodeida, and separate areas in Hodeida were subjected to artillery shelling by the forces of aggression.

The aggression warplanes launched a raid on Sheda district while Saudi missile and artillery bombardment targeted separate areas of Razih border district in Sa’ada.

On April 20, 2022, the mercenaries of the aggression targeted, with missile and artillery shelling, separate areas in Hodeida, al-Balq al-Sharqi and Al-Akd in Marib and al-Malaheth area in Saada.

Aggression commits 61 violations in Hodeida in 24 hours

The aggression forces committed 61 violations of the ceasefire agreement in Hodeida province over the past 24 hours, an official at the operations room to monitor the violations said on Thursday.

The official at the operations room to monitor the violations said that among the aggression forces’ violations were a raid by spy planes on Hays and the creation of combat fortifications in Maqbanah, and five spy planes flew over Hays.

He indicated that the aggression forces also committed nine violations with artillery shell\ and 45 violations with various gunshots.
