Norland and President of the Tebu Congress discuss the importance of including all Libyan people in the political process.

Tripoli The U.S. Special Envoy for Libya Ambassador, Richard Norland, met with the President of the Tebu Congress, Issa Abdul Majid, and discussed the importance of including all Libyan people in the political process.

The U.S Embassy said in a tweet that Norland discussed with Abdul Majid the importance of including all Libyan people in the UN-facilitated political process to establish a pathway to elections and stability.

It’s noteworthy that the U.S Embassy in Libya expressed, in a statement a few days ago, its country’s support for the initiative of the UN Envoy to Libya, Abdoulaye Bathily, to hold the elections in 2023.

A delegation of heads of UN agencies visits the municipality of Sebha.

Sebha a delegation of Heads of UN agencies visited, yesterday, Sebha Municipal Council to follow up on development projects in the city.

The delegation included officials from the UN Development Fund, the Mother and Child Organization, the World Food Organization, the UN Fund for Population Support, and the International Organization for Migration.

The delegation met with the Acting Dean of the Municipality, Abu Bakr Bashir, and the Undersecretary of the Municipality, Eng. Mohammed Mahrez, to discuss the ongoing projects supported by the UN, and with dignitaries and local mayors, and civil society institutions.

The UN delegation visited the Central Bank of Libya branch in Sebha, to discuss ways of cooperation to support development projects in the city, and inspected Sebha Medical Center to find out the problems and difficulties facing the center, and to study ways to support and provide the needs of the center.

Al-Dabaiba attends the opening of the German Libyan Economic Forum.

Tripoli the activities of the second German Libyan Economic Forum kicked off in Tripoli today, in the presence of the Head of the Government of National Unity, Abdul-Hamid Al-Dabaiba.

The Forum was attended by the Minister of Economy and Trade, the Head of the General Federation of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, and Agriculture, Mohammed Al-Raidh, the Secretary-General of the Arab-German Chamber of Commerce, Abdul-Aziz Al-Mikhlafi, the German Ambassador to Libya, Michael Ohnmacht, and a number of businessmen and those interested and specialists in the area of economy and trade.

More than 20 German companies specializing in a number of areas, and working to develop trade relations in Libya, are participating in the activities of this forum, which is hosted by the Federation of Libyan Chambers of Commerce, Industry, and Agriculture.

Al-Dabaiba expresses the Government’s seriousness in supporting German partnerships and capabilities.

Tripoli The Head of the Government of National Unity, Abdul-Hamid Al-Dabaiba, said that the convening of the Second German-Libyan Economic Forum reflects the interest of businessmen and officials in Germany and Libya’s role in promoting and consolidating prospects for joint cooperation between the two friendly countries.

Al-Dabaiba in his remark expressed government’s seriousness in supporting all German partnerships and capabilities to enhance development in Libya and commitment to benefit from German reports and experiences for cooperation in all areas and support German businessmen to benefit from their expertise.

“We are looking forward to investing in area of energy and alternative energy, and we are determined to establish an electric line with Europe, because Libya has the ingredients in the area of solar energy and hydrogen energy, as well as real investment in the area of oil and gas,” PM said.

Al-Dabaiba confirmed that the government strongly supports the private sector which is the basic of development in Libya in the future, saying that Libya is a peaceful country, and it cannot be a source of terrorism.

“The train of stability in Libya has started, calling on all companies to return and invest in Libya, praising in this regard the role of German companies in Libya for decades, especially in the area of road construction, energy and other projects,” he added.

Al-Dabaiba commended the ongoing Libyan-German program to accommodate Libyan students to study in Germany in all fields, especially medicine and engineering, appreciating the role of Germany through the Berlin Conference (1-2) in supporting the stability of Libya and looking forward to continuing this effective role within the African Union, in addition to Germany’s support for civil society institutions, women, and all components.

Tunisian ambassador to Libya confirms his government’s keen interest to support trade relations and cooperation between the two countries.

Tripoli, The activities of the Libyan-Tunisian Partnership and Integration Forum kicked off, Monday, with the participation of (200) representatives of Libyan and Tunisian companies and businessmen in food industries, building materials, electrical industries, machine spare parts, stationery, packaging, import and export.

The forum, organized by the Libyan Export Development Center in cooperation with the Tunisian Export Promotion Center, aims to open the door for partnership and cooperation for the flow of goods and services between Libya and Tunisia, revitalize the intra-trade movement, develop the wheel of the economy, diversify income and strengthen the competitiveness of Libyan and Tunisian products.

The Tunisian ambassador to Libya, Al-Asaad Al-Ajili, said in a statement to the Libyan News Agency that the volume of trade exchange between Libya and Tunisia recently witnessed a quantum leap and we hope that it will develop further, stressing the Tunisian government’s keen interest to support trade relations and cooperation between the two countries.

In his statement on the sidelines of the forum, the Tunisian ambassador expressed his appreciation of the relevant authorities both in Libya and Tunisia for organizing this forum, which is attended by more than 200 Tunisian and Libyan businessmen and various sectors, including health, construction, trade and services, stressing that this forum is a good opportunity to strengthen partnership between Libyan and Tunisian institutions interested in upgrading cooperation between the two countries.
