Abdullah Al-Lafi discusses with Al-Mangoush political developments locally and internationally.

Tripoli, March 7, 2023 (LANA) – Member of the Presidential Council, Abdullah Al-Lafi, discussed with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Najla Al-Mangoush, the latest developments of the political situation on local and international arena.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that the two sides discussed during the meeting, Tuesday at the Ministry’s office in Tripoli, ways of cooperation between Libya and brotherly and friendly countries in all fields.

Al-Lafi and Al-Mangoush also discussed the role of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in coordinating and supporting the efforts of the Presidential Council and the High-level Committee of the African Union in making the national reconciliation project in Libya a success.

Al-Mangoush meets Qatar’s ambassador to Libya

Tripoli, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Najla Al-Mangoush, met, Tuesday, Qatar’s Ambassador to Libya, Khaled Al-Dosari.

The ministry stated on its official website that the meeting discussed the latest developments of the political situation in the country, and the government’s ongoing work to hold elections as soon as possible.

The two sides stressed the importance of strengthening joint Libyan-Qatari relations and developing partnership between the two countries in various fields.

The ambassador indicated his country’s support for the efforts of the UN envoy in Libya, Abdoulaye Bathily to hold elections and enhance security and stability in Libya.

Al-Dbaiba assures Bathily of his government’s support for UN mission conducive to elections.

Tripoli, The head of the Government of National Unity, Abdul Hamid al-Dbaiba, has reaffirmed his government’s support for the measures taken by the UN mission in Libya geared towards elections.

He said his government is serious and continues working with international parties to reach elections, and that it formed a team to contribute to the completion and modernization of the constitutional base to be ready for realizing the Libyan dream.

During his meeting, Tuesday, with the UN envoy, Abdoulaye Bathily, and his political team, in his first meeting after his briefing to the UN Security Council on Libya, in the presence of Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Najla Al-Mangoush, Al-Dabaiba stated the readiness of his government and its executive tools to hold parliamentary and presidential elections.

According to the media office of the Prime Minister, Bathily briefed al-Dbaiba on his regional and international tours and the outcomes of his meetings in New York, stressing that he supports his plan to hold elections, as the main goal of the mission’s work.

Practical measures to implement his proposal, so that it is feasible and expresses the Libyans’ true desire to hold fair and just elections, were also discussed.

In turn, Minister of Foreign Affairs Najla Al-Mangoush said – according to the same source – that the countries in connections with the Libyan file, with which ‘We are constantly communicating, are supportive of holding fair and just elections and ending the transitional stages’, stressing the continuation of international communication’s support and efforts to make this election a success.

Al-Dbaiba: We are determined to make power interconnection with Europe

Tripoli, The head of the Government of National Unity, Abdul Hamid al-Dbaiba, said that the convening of the second Libyan-German economic forum reflects the interest of businessmen and officials in the Federal Republic of Germany and Libya’s role in strengthening and consolidating prospects for joint cooperation between the two friendly countries.

In his speech at the opening of the forum, Tuesday, in Tripoli, Al-Dbaiba expressed his government’s keen interest in supporting all German partnerships and capabilities to promote development in Libya and keen interest to benefit from German experiences for cooperation in all fields and support German businessmen to benefit from their expertise.

The prime minister said, “We are looking forward to investing in the field of energy and alternative energy, and we are determined to power interconnection with Europe, because Libya has the ingredients in the field of solar energy and hydrogen energy, as well as real investment in the field of oil and gas.”

Al-Dbaiba emphasized that the Government of National Unity strongly supports the private sector, which is the backbone of development in Libya in the future, saying that Libya is a peaceful country – and it cannot be a source of terrorism.

The Prime Minister announced that the train of stability in Libya has started, calling on all companies to return and invest in Libya, praising in this regard the role of German companies in Libya for decades, especially in the field of road construction, energy and other projects.

He also praised the continued Libyan-German programme to welcome Libyan students to study in Germany in various medical and engineering fields.

Tunisian official tells (LANA): Libyan and Tunisian institutions have started working to break into African markets.

Tripoli, The Assistant Director General of the Center for the Promotion of Exports in Tunisia, “Riyad Attia,” stated that the center is organizing, in cooperation with the Export Development Center in Libya, many professional meetings between Libyan and Tunisian institutions in various sectors, including food industries, health, materials, mechanics, electricity, and services. And many other sectors to promote partnership and achieve integration between the two countries.

The Tunisian official said in a statement to the Libyan News Agency on the sidelines of the Libyan Integration and Partnership Forum, which began its work in Tripoli on Monday, that the Libyan and Tunisian institutions have begun to work to break into the African markets, expressing the hope to reach an integrated partnership between the two countries on a profitable economic and commercial basis for both sides.

Libyan National Security Adviser meets an Iraqi delegation.

Tripoli, March 07, 2023 (LANA) – The Libyan National Security Adviser, Ibrahim Bushnaf, met this morning, Tuesday, in the capital, Tripoli, with a high-level delegation from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Iraq.

Counselor “Bushnaf” stressed during the meeting the depth of the fraternal and historical relations with which the two brotherly countries are linked, expressing support for the reopening of the Iraqi embassy in Tripoli, and the opening of a consulate in the city of Benghazi.

In turn, the head of the Iraqi diplomatic delegation thanked all state institutions in Libya and their work to strengthen bilateral relations.

The Iraqi official explained that his presence at the head of a delegation from his country’s foreign affairs in Tripoli, his main task is to arrange and work for the opening of the embassy soon.
