During the reception of the Vice-President of the Presidential Council (Abdullah Al-Lafi), the Ambassador of the Republic of Bangladesh stresses the depth of the joint relations between the two friendly countries and peoples.

Tripoli, The Vice President of the Presidential Council, Abdullah Al-Lafi, received today, Monday, the Ambassador of the Republic of Bangladesh to Libya, a member of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, Shamim Al-Zaman, who conveyed the greetings of the President of the Republic of Bangladesh to the Presidential Council.

During the meeting, which was held at the council’s office in Tripoli, it was emphasized the activation of cooperation agreements between the two countries in many fields, especially with regard to the workforce, and medical and auxiliary medical elements to support the health sector, as well as in the areas of trade and economic cooperation.

The Bangladeshi ambassador stressed the depth of the joint relations that bind the two friendly peoples, expressing his readiness to work on developing them in all fields, and his country’s ability to provide Libya with a sufficient number of trained skilled workers, which it needs in the reconstruction and development stage.

Al-Lafi asked the ambassador to convey the greetings of the Presidential Council to the leadership and people of Bangladesh, stressing that the Libyan-Bangladesh relations are cordial and respectful, and work is continuing to consolidate them, in the interest of the two friendly countries during the next stage, in which Libya will witness a movement of reconstruction and development.

Tripoli Law Enforcement raids Qaraboli resort and arrests criminals and human smugglers.

Tripoli, A security force affiliated to Tripoli Law Enforcement Administration branch raided, Monday, the Qaraboli resort, used a den for criminals and smuggling illegal immigrants.

This campaign resulted in arrest of a number of outlaws, and all legal measures were taken against them, and the resort land was handed over to the Tripoli State Property Office.

The force also vacated a plot of land in the region with an area of 69 hectares owned by the state, and removed all forms of encroachments on it and also handed it over to the Tripoli State Property Office.

Guterres’ advisor visits Electoral Commission to ensure elections be held on time.

Tripoli, The Adviser to the Secretary-General of the United Nations on Libyan affairs, Stephanie Williams, held talks in the office of the Commission Council with the Chairman of the Board of the High National Elections Commission, Imad Al-Sayeh, Monday, in the presence of the member of the Commission, Abdul Hakim Al-Shaab.

The sources of the commission stated that the discussions reviewed the developments of the electoral process, the latest developments in the Libyan political scene and its repercussions on the upcoming presidential and parliamentary elections, as well as ways to strengthen national efforts to make this entitlement a success and to be on schedule.

Ms. Stephanie emphasized the United Nations’ support for the Libyan elections as the only and optimal way to achieve the peaceful transfer of power and the aspirations of Libyans towards a secure and stable democratic state.

U.S. Embassy confirms America’s full support to Libyans in holding peaceful and inclusive presidential and parliamentary elections.

Tripoli The U.S. Embassy in Libya welcomed arrival of UN Secretary-General’s Special Adviser on Libya Stephanie Williams in Tripoli.

In remarks posted on its Twitter account on Monday, the U.S. Embassy reiterated U.S. full support for efforts to help Libyans hold peaceful, free and fair presidential and parliamentary elections that will pave the way for a unified and stable future for Libya.

The UN Support Mission in Libya UNSMIL earlier announced Stephanie Williams’ arrival in Tripoli to lead good offices, mediation and work with Libyan, regional and international actors to follow up on the implementation of the three tracks of the Libyan-Libyan dialogue and support presidential and parliamentary elections.
