Tripoli, A member of the House of Representatives, Abdul Qader Hassan Yahya, confirmed that the House of Representatives held a consultative session Monday at its headquarters in Tripoli, during which it discussed the electoral process and the steps taken by the High National Elections Commission, noting that the Libyan people are waiting for this national entitlement.

In a statement to the Libyan News Agency, Yahya said that the elections belong to all Libyans, and that the House of Representatives will push for holding it on time.

For his part, MP Saleh Hamma stressed the necessity and importance of adhering to the date of holding the elections on time, calling on the commission or any party related to organizing the elections to reveal if there are technical or other obstacles that require postponing the elections.

Hamma told the Libyan News Agency that the Parliament does not have the right to postpone the elections, and that the date of December 24 was chosen through the Dialogue Committee in Geneva, and that Parliament supports this date and strongly supports it.

BRUSSELS, The European Union foreign ministers meeting in Brussels unanimously agreed Monday, at the Union headquarters in Brussels, to impose a package of sanctions against the Russian Wagner Group, which deploys mercenaries that destabilizes Libya, Syria, Ukraine and several African countries.
