Vice President of Presidential Council Abdullah Al-Lafi meets with Malta’s Foreign Minister

Tripoli– Presidential Council MP Abdullah Al-Lafi discussed on Sunday with Malta’s Foreign Minister Ian Borg and his accompanying delegation the bilateral relations between the two friendly countries, and the latest developments in the political situation in Libya, in the presence of Foreign Minister Najla Al-Mangoush.

The Presidential Council said on its SMS page that during the meeting the two sides also discussed local and international efforts to resolve the political crisis in the country, ways to provide full support to the new UN envoy to Libya, and ways to complete the constitutional track.

Al-Lafi praised the efforts of the countries supporting Libya’s stability, including Malta, to get out of the Libyan crisis, stressing the importance of consensus between all parties to the political process, to conduct the electoral entitlements to which the Libyan people aspire. For his part, the Maltese Minister praised the Presidential Council role in the success of the national reconciliation project, and its continuous work with the United Nations efforts to find a solution to the current political crisis.
