Discussing aspects related to improving medical services at Al-Hazm Hospital Authority

A meeting in Al-Jawf province, chaired by the Chairman of Al-Hazm Hospital Authority, Dr. Hamid Khamis, discussed the workflow of the authority and ways to improve the level of medical and treatment services.

The meeting, which included the director of the health office in the province, Dr. Abdulaziz Omair, the deputy head of the Al-Hazm Hospital Authority, Dr. Salah Bahjouj, department directors and heads of departments, discussed the difficulties facing the hospital staff and ways to address them.

The head of the authority stressed the importance of doubling efforts and working to find appropriate solutions to the problems facing the medical and administrative staff, in order to enable them to carry out their tasks to the fullest.

While the Director of the Health Office pointed out the importance of everyone’s sense of responsibility and keenness to provide the best services to patients and alleviate their suffering

Fourth conference of laboratory medicine in Capital launched

The fourth laboratory medicine conference organized by the Ministry of Public Health and Population, represented by the National Center for Central Health Laboratories, began on Tuesday.

The conference which is held under the slogan “Quality and Efficiency of Medical Laboratories, Gateway to a Safe Future”, from 6-8 June aims to advance laboratory medicine academically and professionally.

The conference also aims to raise the level of comprehensive quality in laboratories and raise community awareness of the importance of laboratory medicine.

The conference will discuss 24 research papers submitted by researchers from Yemen, Britain, the Netherlands, America, Malaysia, Egypt, Jordan and China.

Minister of Public Health and Population Dr. Taha al-Mutawakil stressed the importance of adopting medical scientific hours in the laboratory conference, which are recorded in the Supreme Medical Council.

Al-Mutawakil pointed out that the aggression tried to separate the medical and health sector from the new scientific developments in this vital field, but the laboratory sector was able to keep up with the new equipment, and all the world’s findings in laboratory medicine.

He pointed out that laboratory medicine is making great strides in the scientific field by establishing scientific programs for its cadres through studying and obtaining scientific ranks such as a master’s degree and a Yemeni fellowship.

Al-Mutawakil indicated that the scientific movement should be opened for specialists in laboratory medicine to continue their academic education, masters, fellowship and doctorate.

He explained that the world has not developed except through scientific research, and we must focus on what others have concluded, especially nanotechnology and stem cells, and the advancement of laboratory medicine, which proves day after day the efficiency of laboratory medical cadres with their scientific and practical presence.

The minister stressed the importance of quality in providing laboratory medical services, and that modern equipment should be accompanied by efficiency in diagnosis by searching for the correct realistic results and not the results of dry devices.

Discussing interventions of International Commission in health sector in Taiz

The Undersecretary of Taiz province, Fouad Hael, and the Director of the Health Office, Dr. Abdul-Malik Al-Mutawakel, discussed today with representatives of the International Medical Corps, aspects related to supporting the health sector in the districts of Khadir, Maqbana, and Mawiyah.

The meeting reviewed the organization’s efforts to cover part of the needs of health centers and units in the province during the last period, as well as the plan and needs of health facilities in the targeted districts.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Director of Health Office in the province, Dr. Fadl Al-Qabati, and Director of the Organizations Department, Dr. Hammoud Al-Qarih.

SCH Chief highlights Health Insurance Scheme

The Health Insurance Scheme aims to provide an integrated high-quality and flexible system which would be attractive for investors, said Supreme Council of Health (SCH) Secretary-General Ibrahim Ali Al Nawakhda.

He noted that the scheme aims to establish an efficient and sustainable health financing system that guarantees freedom in choosing a provider, and to set up a fair and competitive service within a framework that protects the rights of all parties involved in health insurance.

He was addressing a workshop organized by the Supreme Council of Health with insurance companies, private hospitals and insurance claims companies to shed light on the health insurance scheme.

The workshop is part of the sessions of the third edition of the “National Health Regulatory Authority Conference and Exhibition”, which was inaugurated under the patronage of SCH President Lieutenant General Doctor Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Khalifa.

Al Nawakhda stressed the council’s commitment to reach out to institutions related to the application of health insurance to discuss the developments of the project.

He stressed the need for continued cooperation with insurance companies, private hospitals and claims companies for the success of this project. He highlighted all the stages related to the National Health Insurance Program (SAHATI), which aims to provide integrated, sustainable and high-quality health services.

Qatar 9th International Mental Health Conference Concludes

Qatar’s 9th International Mental Health Conference, organized by the Ministry of Public Health (MOPH) and Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC), in collaboration Primary Health Care Corporation in Qatar and the Royal College of Psychiatrists at The Sheraton Hotel Doha, concluded on Saturday.

Over 1000 delegates attended this 3-day event in person or online.

MOPH, and HMC, working in collaboration Primary Health Care Corporation in Qatar and the Royal College of Psychiatrists, brought together over 50 local, regional and international speakers, combining topics of mental health and wellbeing with innovations in treatment and Psychiatry.

Chairman of Psychiatry and Medical Director of the Mental Health Service at HMC, and Conference Chairman Dr. Majid Al Abdullah said “This event was an ambitious attempt to combine the science of medicine with the importance of wellbeing and mental health promotion. The theme of the conference (Transforming Mental Health for All) attracted people from the many aspects of Mental Health today.” Dr Majid went on to say: “The array of international speakers, colleagues from the region, our own staff and local partner organizations, combined with members of the public, delegates from industry and wellbeing specialists provided a rich and engaging conference for all.” The inclusion and promotion of physical and mental health and the inclusion of wellbeing activities were promoted throughout the conference, with many delegates participating in sessions advising on techniques to relieve stress or promote stretching and wellbeing.

Director of the National Mental Health Program at MOPH Susan Clelland said: “Embracing a wellbeing approach helps to promote mental health and raises public awareness in addition to reducing the stigma surrounding Mental Health. Wellbeing specialists working with colleagues from HMC and engaging delegates was a welcomed initiative that complemented the traditional educational lectures”.

CEO of the Mental Health Service at HMC and National Lead for Mental Health and Wellbeing Iain Tulley said that this event demonstrated the importance of partnership working and collaboration.

He extended thanks local partners and sponsors from across the health system for helping to make this event possible.

According to HMC, the next Mental Health and Wellbeing conference is scheduled to take place in late 2024.

Health Ministry is making preparations for fourth conference of laboratory medicine

The Ministry of Public Health and Population, represented by the National Center for Central Health Laboratories, is making preparations for holding the Fourth Conference on Laboratory Medicine, Reality and Ambition.

The Director General of the Center, Chairman of the Basic Organizing Committee, Dr. Abdul-Ilah Al-Harazi, explained to the Yemeni News Agency (Saba), that the conference, which is held under the slogan “Quality and Efficiency of Medical Laboratories, the Gateway to a Safe Future” during the period from 6-8 June, aims to advance laboratory medicine academically and professionally and raise the level Total quality in laboratories.

He pointed out that the conference will discuss a number of axes on sustainability in the application of internal and external quality programs in medical laboratories, programs for infection control and control in health facilities and antimicrobial resistance, in addition to tumors, blood diseases and complementarity between laboratory medicine, pathology and modern technologies in laboratory medicine, sterility and examinations Laboratory and the role of the Syndicate of Diagnostic Medicine in raising the efficiency of laboratories.

The Chairman of the Committee stressed the importance of laboratory diagnostic medicine as one of the largest professional groups in the field of health care that relies on in diagnosis and treatment, considering the conference an opportunity for all those interested in laboratory medicine from different governorates to exchange experiences with specialists and researchers and discuss related professional and research issues.

For his part, Deputy Chairman of the Organizing Committee Abdul Rahman Al-Wazir stated that the conference will discuss 27 research papers submitted by researchers from Yemen, Britain, the Netherlands, America, Malaysia, Egypt, Jordan and China.

He pointed to the importance of the conference, which will be attended by more than a thousand participants from various governorates and medical specialties, to highlight the quality, the role of the laboratory medicine profession, and the risks that the staff working in this profession are exposed to.

The minister stated that the conference will be accompanied by an exhibition of companies importing and marketing laboratory medical products, and specialized training and research workshops.

He pointed out that the National Center for Central Health Laboratories organized three medical conferences, during which 75 working papers were discussed about the stages of laboratory medicine, comprehensive quality in laboratory medicine, the status of laboratory medicine in Yemen, field epidemiology, and the reality of diagnostic and laboratory medical services.

The vice-chairman of the committee stressed the importance of laboratory diagnostic medicine, as it is one of the largest professional groups in the field of health care on which it relies in diagnosis and treatment, pointing to the importance of the conference in raising awareness and introducing the role of laboratory specialists.
