Fourth conference of laboratory medicine in Capital launched

The fourth laboratory medicine conference organized by the Ministry of Public Health and Population, represented by the National Center for Central Health Laboratories, began on Tuesday.

The conference which is held under the slogan “Quality and Efficiency of Medical Laboratories, Gateway to a Safe Future”, from 6-8 June aims to advance laboratory medicine academically and professionally.

The conference also aims to raise the level of comprehensive quality in laboratories and raise community awareness of the importance of laboratory medicine.

The conference will discuss 24 research papers submitted by researchers from Yemen, Britain, the Netherlands, America, Malaysia, Egypt, Jordan and China.

Minister of Public Health and Population Dr. Taha al-Mutawakil stressed the importance of adopting medical scientific hours in the laboratory conference, which are recorded in the Supreme Medical Council.

Al-Mutawakil pointed out that the aggression tried to separate the medical and health sector from the new scientific developments in this vital field, but the laboratory sector was able to keep up with the new equipment, and all the world’s findings in laboratory medicine.

He pointed out that laboratory medicine is making great strides in the scientific field by establishing scientific programs for its cadres through studying and obtaining scientific ranks such as a master’s degree and a Yemeni fellowship.

Al-Mutawakil indicated that the scientific movement should be opened for specialists in laboratory medicine to continue their academic education, masters, fellowship and doctorate.

He explained that the world has not developed except through scientific research, and we must focus on what others have concluded, especially nanotechnology and stem cells, and the advancement of laboratory medicine, which proves day after day the efficiency of laboratory medical cadres with their scientific and practical presence.

The minister stressed the importance of quality in providing laboratory medical services, and that modern equipment should be accompanied by efficiency in diagnosis by searching for the correct realistic results and not the results of dry devices.
