Tunisia can be platform for exporting energy to Europe: official

TUNIS— Tunisia can be a platform for exporting energy to Europe due to its advantage in location, Tunisian-African Business Council (TABC) President Anis Jaziri said.

Jaziri made the remarks during a Saturday seminar on “Energy Transition for Sustainable Development between Africa and Europe” held in the capital Tunis.

The seminar was attended by Tunisian Minister of Industry, Mines and Energy Neila Nouira Gongi, French Ambassador to Tunisia Andre Parant, Ambassador of Senegal to Tunisia Ramatoulaye Ba Faye, and a group of Tunisian and international experts in the field of energy.

Jaziri explained that the strategic location of Tunisia and its proximity to Italy and some African countries which are rich in energy, such as Libya, Algeria and Nigeria, will enable the North African country to be an “energy path” between these countries.

He added that, as Europe is looking for new energy sources following the Russia-Ukraine conflict, Tunisia can be a path for exporting energy to Europe.

Chief of Staff welcomes the role of the UN fact-finding mission to uncover abuses and crimes against human rights and international law

Tripoli, The Chief of the General Staff of the Libyan Army, Lieutenant General “Mohammed Al-Haddad”, welcomed the role and work of the United Nations Fact-Finding Mission to reveal the facts about the crimes and violations that occurred against human rights and international humanitarian law.

This came during his reception, Wednesday, at the headquarters of the General Staff in the capital, Tripoli, for the United Nations Fact-Finding Mission, in the presence of the Director of the Office of the Minister of Defense, human rights specialists in the Ministry of Defense and the Presidency of the General Staff, and delegates from the Military Engineering Department, the Libyan Center for Demining, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

According to the media center of the General Staff Presidency of the Libyan Army, Lieutenant General Al-Haddad explained in a speech during the meeting that the harm caused to innocent civilians as a result of the planting of advanced mines in terms of quality and methods of planting, which has not been witnessed before except during the year 2019 during the attack on the capital, Which is a violation against human rights.

Finance Minister discussing in Dakar with the President of Senegal the activation of Libyan investments in several fields.

Dakar, The Minister of Finance of the Government of National Unity, “Khaled Al-Mabrouk”, in his capacity as the Governor of Libya in the African Bank, discussed with the President of Senegal, “Macky Sall”, ways to support bilateral relations between the two countries.

This came during their meeting on the sidelines of the Dakar Summit (2), which was organized by the African Development Bank in cooperation with the Senegalese government, under the slogan “Food Security in Africa and Food Sovereignty.”

Al-Mabrouk discussed with Macky activating Libyan investments in Senegal and attracting new investments in real estate, agriculture, fishing and food industries.

Undersecretary of the Ministry of Economy and Trade visits the Italian Industries Agents Exhibition.

Tripoli, The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Economy and Trade for Economic Affairs, Sa’ad Al-Haneish, toured the Italian Industries Agents exhibition hall, which is held on the grounds of the Tripoli International Fair.

Al-Haneish while visiting the exhibition, inquired from the agents of Italian companies about the difficulties and obstacles facing commercial agencies and ways to support and develop the sector in various fields and enhance its role at the local and international levels with the aim of transferring and localizing industries.

During the visit, accompanied by the Executive Director of the Libyan-Italian Chamber of Commerce, the agent, “Al-Hadi Garwash”, confirmed the support of the Ministry of Economy and Trade by providing all administrative, technical and legal measures to facilitate the work of companies.

It is noteworthy that the exhibition of Italian agencies witnesses the participation of more than 35 companies from the agents of Italian companies in various fields.

Tajani : we must do our best to hold the Libyan elections in 2023.

Rome The Italian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Antonio Tajani, described bringing stability to Libya through consensual electoral process between the Libyan parties as “a very important matter”, for his country’s authorities.

The Italian agency AKI quoted Tajani, addressing the Italian Parliament, Wednesday, during accountability session, that this goal is “at the heart of our talks with the actors that have an impact on this country.

The Czech Republic calls for an agreement on the constitutional basis for holding the Libyan elections
