HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister issues Edict (57) of 2023

His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, today issued Edict (57) of 2023, transferring an Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, based on a proposal by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and following the approval of the Cabinet.

The edict stipulated the following:

Article (1)

The Kingdom of Bahrain’s Ambassador to the French Republic, HE Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulghaffar Abdulla, shall be transferred to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Article (2)

The Minister of Foreign Affairs shall implement the provisions of this edict, which takes immediate effect and will be published in the Official Gazette.

UoB announces the results of waiting lists

The University of Bahrain (UoB) announced that applicants on its waiting list have been approved for admission for the academic year 2023-2024.

UoB President Fuad Mohammed Al Ansari said the university will continue to accommodate students who apply on a competitive basis.

The admission results include students on waiting lists who selected academic programmes they wish to enroll in during the period July 20-August 3.

According to the President, students need to confirm their admission and pay the fees from August 8-12.

Dr. Al Ansari congratulated the newly admitted students and urged them to read the university’s regulations.

Dr. Amal Al Zayed, Dean of Admission and Registration, said newly admitted students needed to confirm their admission and pay via https://usis.uob.edu.bh.

She also noted that students who wish to change their academic programmes can log into the university’s website and click on (post admission service) to choose three alternative programmes during the admission period. The results will be announced after the admission period based on seat availability in selected programmes.

Dr. Al Zayed said that the admission will be revoked if the student does not confirm it on the specified dates. Scholarship students will be able to print the acceptance letter through the website, and present it to the scholarship authority.

Newly admitted students to the College of Applied Studies will be able to transfer when they meet one of the following conditions: they either pass the first semester of the associate diploma programme with a GPA of no less than 3.5 out of 4.00, provided that they achieve 12 credit hours; or if they pass the associate diploma programme with a GPA of no less than 3.00 out of 4.00.

HRH Crown Prince, Prime Minister issues Edict (58) of 2023.

His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, today issued Edict (58) of 2023, appointing a director in the Secretariat General of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS), based on a proposal by the Chairman of the SCYS.

According to the edict, Safaa Mohammad Baqer Al Tajer shall be appointed as Director of Strategic Projects at the General Secretariat of SCYS.

The SCYS Chairman shall implement the provisions of this edict, which comes into effect immediately and shall be published in the Official Gazette.

The Ambassador of the European Union to Libya confirms the continued support of the European Union to Libya.

The European Union’s ambassador to Libya, “José Sabadell,” affirmed today, Tuesday, the European Union’s continued support for Libya until the stage of stability reaches the success of the electoral process that the Libyan people aspire to.

The European ambassador, during the reception of the deputy in the Presidential Council, “Musa al-Koni”, praised him today, Tuesday, on the occasion of the end of his term in Libya, for the efforts of the Presidential Council in resolving many files, including the opening of the coastal road, and the steps taken in the national reconciliation project, which has reached advanced stages and unified it for government institutions.

According to the Presidential Council, Jose also praised the fruitful cooperation he sought from the Presidential Council throughout his tenure, which contributed to the development of friendly and respectful relations between Libya and the European Union.

During the meeting, the European ambassador also affirmed the mission’s continued cooperation with the Presidential Council, announcing that it will carry out its work during the coming period from the capital, Tripoli, according to the Presidential Council.

For his part, the deputy in the Presidential Council, Musa al-Koni, praised the mission’s work in the joint cooperation files between Libya and the European Union, especially in the area of supporting the Electoral Commission and border security and development files.

HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister issues Edict 55/2023

His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, today issued Edict (55) of 2023, issuing the general framework for reviewing the performance of higher education institutions, based on a proposal by the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Education and Training Quality Authority (BQA), following the approval of the Cabinet.

The edict stipulated the following:

Article (1)

The general framework for reviewing the performance of higher education institutions (institutional reviews), attached to this edict, shall be implemented.

Article (2)

The general framework for reviewing the performance of higher education institutions issued by Edict (38) of 2015 is repealed.

Article (3)

The edict and the accompanying general framework shall come into effect on the day following its publication in the Official Gazette.
