Al Sidiq Al Kabir follows up with the Ambassador of Spain on the difficulties facing Spanish companies to resume their operations in Libya.

Tripoli, 5 October 2022 (Lana) The Governor of the Central Bank of Libya, Al Sidiq Omar Al Kabir, received yesterday the Ambassador of Spain to Libya, Javier Qarsa Laracci.

They exchanged views on many issues of mutual interest, including difficulties facing Spanish companies to resume their operations in Libya.

Sources to Lana: High Council of State has not completed work on constitutional basis for elections.

Tripoli, 5 October 2022 (Lana) The High Council of State has postponed study of the articles of the constitutional rule on legislative and presidential elections, and vote on them to its next sessions.

Sources in the Council’s office told the Libyan News Agency that the point of contention over the candidates’ bearing of more than one nationality has not yet been finally resolved, and pending the outcome from the committee tasked with reaching the formula to be transferred, along with the results of the vote to the House of Representatives.

Al-Koni and Al-Lafi emphasize importance of Audit Office 2021 report.

Tripoli, 4 October 2022 (Lana) Presidential Council Vice Presidents Musa Al-Koni and Abdullah Al-Lafi stressed importance of the annual report of the Audit Office for 2021, to pinpoint violations in government performance, within the framework of transparency, disclosure and combating corruption in order to put the competent authorities and public opinion in the form of the tasks entrusted to the Office.

This came during a meeting on Tuesday morning with the head of the Audit Office, Khaled Shakshek, which focused on the annual report of the office.

On his part, the head of the Audit Office stressed that the preparation of the report was carried out in accordance with the international standards by which the financial supervisory bodies work in all countries of the world, and everything contained in it is documented with sufficient evidence for publication and referral to the competent authorities, to take the necessary measures.

According to the Presidential Council Communication Office, Shakshek praised the Presidency Council’s interest and follow-up of the contents of the report as the first institution to meet with the Office team, to make their own notes, stressed the Bureau’s commitment to work with all parties to strengthen oversight and consolidate the principle of transparency.

During her meeting with Abu-Jannah ,representative of WHO in Libya reiterates her commitment to support Health sector in the country.

Tripoli 4 October 2022 (Lana) World Health Organization “WHO” reiterated its commitment to support efforts of the GNU Ministry of Health ,to upgrade the health services provided to Libya ,especially vaccines and immunizations in the fastest possible method ,while ensuring their quality.

This came during discussions by the Acting Minister of Health Ramadan Abu-Jannah ,at the Minister’s office in Tripoli yesterday, with representative of WHO to Libya, and the Head of mission in Libya ,Elizabeth Hoff, where they discussed supporting Health sector in the country.

Abu-Jannah stressed importance of rehabilitation and training of medical and paramedical staff, with more attention to be given to the Health sector workers in the southern region ,stressing the need for cooperation in exchanging information and experiences ,enhancing cooperation between all institutions related to the sector, and facilitating treatment of chronic diseases patients in Libya.

For her part ,Elizabeth Hoff, explained the organization’s priority which is to provide medicines and medical supplies to support emergency health services in Libya ,thanking Abu-Jannah for the facilities provided by the Ministry and its medical departments to the organization ,with the aim of strengthening the health response in the country.

his Greek counterpart discuss developments of the Libyan file.

Tripoli 4 October 2022 (Lana) Spokesman for the Egyptian Foreign Ministry ,Ahmed Abu-Zeid, stated that Foreign Minister Sameh Shukri, received ,on Monday, a phone call from Greek Foreign Minister ,Nikos Dendias, dealing with latest developments of the bilateral relations and regional issues ,particularly developments in Libya.

Ahmed Abu-Zeid added in his statement published by the Ministry’s SMS Page ,that the two ministers agreed to continue consultations on different regional and international issues of common interest, within the framework of the continuous coordination between the two countries.

Discussing latest developments of implementation of the project to open a number of new lanes at Ras Ajdir port and linking them with Tunisian side.

Tripoli 4 October 2022 (Lana) Director of the General Administration of Ports Security, Major General “Abdul Rahman Al-Arefi Bshaya” ,met yesterday with the director of security at Ras Ajdir land port and the head of the police station at the port.

During the meeting ,they discussed the latest developments of implementation of the project to open a number of new lanes at Ras Ajdir border crossing and linking them to the Tunisian side , including putting in place new scanners and three booths to register motor vehicles on both sides, as agreed upon with the Tunisian side.

Bshaya stressed the need to facilitate the flow of passengers and traffic procedures and provide them with the best services.
