Al Mnefi meets notables and sages of Cyrenaica to discuss a solution to the current crisis in the country.

Tripoli, 6 October 2022 (Lana) President of the Presidential Council, Mohammed Al-Mnefi met on Thursday afternoon, a number of notables, sages and elites of Cyrenaica, to discuss reaching a solution that ends the current crisis in the country and contribute to the convergence of views, between all parties involved in the political process.

The President of the Council expressed his support for the efforts of the elders, notables and elites of Cyrenaica, and for all their efforts to heal the rift and reunite the homeland, stressing that notables, sages and elites are an integral part of the national reconciliation project, to achieve peace among all Libyans and overcome the current crisis.

The notables, elders and elites presented before the President their vision; to communicate with all parties to save the country from the specter of division and reach the electoral merit, stressing their full support for the efforts of the Presidential Council in maintaining the stability and safety of the country.

Libya participates in the activities of the Nile ship for Arab youth hosted by Egypt.

Tripoli, 6 October 2022 (Lana) Libya participated in the activities of the Nile ship for Arab youth, which is hosted by Egypt from 4 to 15 of October with the participation of Algeria – Bahrain – UAE – Yemen – Jordan – Sudan – Palestine and Somalia.

The activities of the Nile Ship aim to exchange expertise and experiences among Arab youth in the field of green development and create a climate for the development of joint projects and programs among young people, as well as to implement dialogue sessions and workshops in the field of green development and its relationship to climate changes.

The itinerary will be with the participation of the Ministry of Youth of the Government of National Unity from Aswan to Luxor, then Qena and the rest of the governorates located on the banks of the Nile up to Cairo, during which archaeological and tourist monuments along the Nile River will by visited for the ship of Arab youth.

The British Prime Minister professes her Zionism.

London, 6 October 2022 (Lana) A video circulating on social media since Tuesday of new British Prime Minister Liz Truss speaking out about her Zionism has raised many questions.

In the video, which was recorded while Truss attended a ‘Friends of Israel’ event in the Conservative Party, she said: “I am very happy to be for the first time at the Friends of Israel event in the Conservative Party, and as you know I am a Zionist and a strong supporter of Israel, and I know that we can develop relations with greater extent between Britain and Israel, and from strength to strength.”

GNU Ministry of Interior and the Korean Ambassador to Libya discuss opening and securing the South Korean Embassy in Tripoli.

Tripoli, 5 October 2022 (Lana) The head of International Cooperation Office at the Ministry of Interior, Brigadier General Abu Rabie, and the Director of the General Directorate for the Protection of Diplomatic Missions, Major General Wissam Ben Jammeh, discussed at a meeting with South Korean Ambassador to Libya Lee Sang-so, procedures for opening the embassy in the capital Tripoli and securing it by the Department of Protection of Diplomatic Missions, according to the Ministry of Interior of the Government of National Unity.

The ministry added in a post on its SMS page that the meeting, which was held on Tuesday at the headquarters of the Office of Communication and International Cooperation, also discussed security cooperation between the two countries.

Presidential Council receives the Algerian Minister of Mujahideen.

Tripoli, 5 October 2022 (Lana) President of the Presidential Council, Mohamed Al-Mnefi, and Vice Presidents Moussa El Koni, and Abdullah Al Lafi, received on Wednesday the Algerian Minister of Mujahideen and People with Rights, Al Eid Rabika. The meeting which was held on the sidelines of the commemoration of the 65th anniversary of the historic Battle of Essin was attended by the Algerian Ambassador to Libya Suleiman Shenin and the Acting Interior Minister Badreddine Toumi,.

The Algerian Minister conveyed to the Presidential Council the greetings of the President of the Algerian Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, and the Algerian people, expressing the depth of the relationship between the two brotherly countries.

For his part, the President of the Presidential Council stressed that the anniversary of the Battle of Essin is a commemoration of the common history of struggle between the two brotherly peoples, stressing that its revival is fair to the brotherly relations between Libyans and Algerians, and the role of the Libyan people in supporting the Algerian revolution.

Presidential Council commemorates the 65th anniversary of the historic Battle of Essen.

Tripoli, 5 October 2022 (Lana) The Presidential Council on Wednesday marked the 65th anniversary of the historic battle of Essin, in the presence of the President of the Presidential Council, Mohammed Al Mnefi, and the two Vice Presidents, Musa Al-Koni, and Abdullah Al-Lafi.

Algerian Minister of Mujahideen and People with Rights Al Eid Rabika, Algerian Ambassador to Libya Suleiman Chenin and a number of ambassadors accredited to Libya participated in the commemoration event.

According to the Council Communication Office, the celebration began with the opening of an exhibition on manuscripts, photographs and books, as a participation of the Libyan Center for Archives and Historical Studies, after which the ceremony to commemorate the 65th anniversary of the historic Battle of Essen took place, in commemoration of the common history of struggle between the brotherly Libyan and Algerian peoples.

The Presidential Council Vice President Musa Al-Koni, delivered a speech in which he stressed the depth of the strong relationship between the two brotherly neighbors.

For his part, the Algerian Minister of Mujahideen and People with Rights, Al Eid Rabika, in his speech on the occasion, praised the brotherly relationship between Libyans and Algerians, and the Libyan role that was supportive of the Algerian revolution.
