An agricultural initiative for summer school students in Al-Sabeen District

Students of the Shaheed Al-Qur’an Summer Closed School in Al-Jarda’a neighborhood in Al-Sabeen district in Amanat Al-Asimah implemented an agricultural initiative by planting fruitful, forestry and medicinal trees.

The agricultural initiative, in cooperation with Local Council and the Agriculture and Irrigation Office in the Capital Sana’a, aimed to plant two thousand seedlings of fruit, forest and medicinal trees in the school’s yard, as part of the various activities and programs of the summer courses.

The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health, Dr. Muhammad Al-Mansour, and the Director of the Agriculture Office in the Municipality, Ibrahim Sharaf, participated in planting a number of agricultural seedlings in the schoolyard.

They emphasized the importance of these activities to consolidate the culture of agriculture among the students of the summer courses, provide them with agricultural knowledge and skills, and raise their awareness of its importance and role in bringing about agricultural development in order to achieve self-sufficiency.

They pointed out the need to activate community initiatives in implementing afforestation campaigns in the districts, the importance of preserving trees and green spaces, expanding the cultivation of fruit trees and encouraging home farming.
