12 Dead due to Weather Condition Accidents in Oman

Muscat: Twelve people lost their lives and others were reported missing due to heavy rains and floods in some governorates in the Sultanate of Oman.

Oman News Agency reported the search and rescue sector of the National Committee for Emergency Management (NCEM) as saying Sunday that 12 people lost their lives when their vehicles got swept away in gushing wadi waters. The dead included 11 citizens (2 adults and 9 pupils) and 1 expatriate in Samad A\’Shan area.

Search is still going on for the other 5 missing citizens in the Wilayat of Al Mudhaibi, it added.

Kuwaiti Cabinet Affirms Keenness on Responding to All Regional Incidents, Surrounding Conditions amid Accelerating Regional Developments

Kuwait, April 13 – Kuwaiti cabinet affirmed keenness on responding to all regional incidents and surrounding conditions in a way that protects the security and stability of Kuwait amid the accelerating developments in the region.

This came during the Kuwaiti cabinet’s extraordinary meeting on Saturday under the chairmanship of HH the Kuwaiti Prime Minister Sheikh Dr. Mohammad Sabah Al-Salem Al-Sabah.

The meeting heard presentations by several ministers on the precautionary measures made by their respective ministries and competent state agencies to address any eventuality, particularly in the security domain.

The cabinet reaffirmed commitment to protecting the security and stability of the country.

HH the Amir, UAE President Stress Need to Reduce Escalation, Avoid Expanding Conflict in the Region

Doha: HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani discussed with his brother HH President of the sisterly United Arab Emirates (UAE) Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan the fraternal relations between the two countries and ways to support and strengthen them, in addition to the regional and international developments.

This came during the phone call that HH the Amir received on Sunday from HH the President of the UAE.

During the call, HH the Amir and HH the President of the UAE stressed the need to reduce all forms of escalation and avoid expanding the conflict in the region, in addition to the importance of a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and the occupied Palestinian territories to reach a permanent and final solution to the Palestinian cause that achieves a lasting and comprehensive peace in the region.

Facebook Messenger Allows Users to Send HD Images

Washington, Meta company announced that users can send HD photos through its instant messaging platform Facebook Messenger.

According to the company, Facebook Messenger now has the option to upload HD photos when sending an image to someone else. The feature works just like the one Meta already implemented for WhatsApp users last year, with a button to send the image in its full resolution. Users can send either a single or multiple HD images.

Another new feature coming to Facebook Messenger is the option to create shared albums with friends.

Everyone in a chat can view, add, delete, and download photos and videos from the shared album.

Messenger also supports files of up to 100MB, so users don’t have to rely on other platforms to share large documents. Meta is also adding a QR Code to the user’s profile to make it easier to contact another Messenger account.

Number of Martyrs in West Bank Since October 7 Increases to 464 Palestinians

Ramallah, Palestinian Ministry of Health announced that the number of martyrs in the West Bank since Oct. 7, has increased to 464 Palestinians, in addition to 4,800 injured.

In a statement, the ministry said that four Palestinians from the towns of Tubas, Al Mughayir, and Beitin were martyred and around 60 others were injured by bullets from the occupation forces and colonists, including 10 seriously injured, since last Friday.

The number of victims of the ongoing Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip for the 191st day has reached 33,729 martyrs and 76,371 wounded, while thousands of victims are still under the rubble.
