SPL Provides a Bundle of Distinguished Field Services in Holy Sites

Saudi Postal Corporation (SPL) is providing a comprehensive range of field services during the Hajj season 1444 AH, in line with the directives of the Saudi government to all government agencies involved in serving pilgrims. These efforts aim to facilitate the performance of Hajj rituals for the pilgrims with ease and comfort, and are being carried out in coordination with other national agencies. Under the supervision of SPL’s Hajj and Umrah Business Center, qualified teams are working round the clock in the field, offices and branches to serve government agencies and pilgrims. They are equipped with all the necessary means, including SPL Go vehicles in Makkah and Madinah.

To provide the best possible logistical postal facilities for the pilgrims, SPL has introduced various field services. These include setting up 45 sales outlets between Madinah, Makkah, and the holy places, as well as sales outlets in the terminals of the airports in Madinah and Jeddah. SPL has also deployed 21 motorcycles and 43 scooters, along with their teams, six official post offices to serve government agencies, three mobile postal cars equipped with the latest technology, 53 cars for transporting parcels, and 16 marketing and field pick-up teams. These efforts reflect SPL’s commitment to serving the pilgrims and ensuring their comfort and convenience during their Hajj journey.

Secretariat’s Chamber of Commerce receives a letter from UN private sector

The leadership of the Industrial Chamber of Commerce of the Capital Secretariat delivered a message from the United Nations private sector that ships should move directly to the port of Hodeida without hindrance, and provide the crenates and machinery needed to unload goods.

This came during the meeting of the President of the Industrial Chamber of Commerce in the Capital Sana’a, Ali Muhammad Al-Hadi, the United Nations Resident Coordinator, and the Coordinator for Humanitarian Affairs of Yemen, William David Gresley.

In the presence of the Vice-Presidents of the Chamber, Mohamed Mohamed Salah and Hassan Ghalib Al-Siani, the meeting discussed ways to strengthen cooperation between the Chamber and the United Nations Office in order to help alleviate the suffering of the Yemeni people.

The meeting also reviewed the negative effects of the imposition of an advance inspection by the United Nations in the port of Djibouti of commercial vessels carrying goods, medicines and other goods; Before heading to the port of Hodeida, the resulting losses over the past eight years; Due to delays in the inspection procedures of vessels by UNVIM in the port of Djibouti, “Demerge” amounts on the inspected vessels, and their containers were not loaded in a timely manner.

In the meeting, the President of the Chamber, Al-Hadi, indicated that the industrial and commercial sector in Yemen suffered very large losses. As a result of the policy of closing the port of Hodeida to shipping containers in the past period, and the resulting severe shortage of food, medicine, fuel, and necessary life necessities, increased costs and burdens, increased poverty rates, and exacerbated the suffering of citizens and the private sector.

The United Nations should work to open the port of Hodeida to the movement of merchant vessels and facilitate the transport of goods; to alleviate suffering for the people.

The time has come for ships to move directly to the port of Hodeida, so as to facilitate easy transportation of goods. The actions carried out during the past period in Djibouti’s port were an obstacle, difficulty and heavy losses.

For his part, UN Coordinator Gresley indicated that the topic will be studied with the UN team, which will hold a meeting with the unvim, within the next two weeks, and the topic will be its top priority. The United Nations understands the difficulties and problems faced by Yemen’s private sector.

He underscored the support of the private sector and appreciated its role in Yemen’s economic activity.

During the meeting, the importance of restoring the capacity of the port of Hodeida, the provision of cranes and incubators, and the special machinery needed to transport and unload goods at the port of Hodeida was also stressed, that the Coalition bombed in 2015-2017, resulting in its decommissioning, and considering that the port of Hodeidah is very important to the life of the Yemeni people, which necessarily needs these machines immediately.

The US-Saudi-Emirati aggression and its mercenaries targeted the infrastructure, government buildings, citizens’ houses, archaeological sites, and mosques, killing and injuring and causing massive destruction in the country.

The Saudi army launched a missile and artillery bombardment on al-Ghor area in Ghamer district. The warplanes launched three raids on Marran area in Haydan district and five raids on al-Masahif and al-Sabhan areas in Baqim district, while two children were injured in a bomb explosion left over by the aggression in Bani Moath area in Sahar district.

The aggression warplanes launched a raid on Ham area in al-Mutun district of Jawf province, two raids on Jabal Nabada and a raid on Mawza district in Taiz province . The warplanes also launched a raid on a walled area and another on al-Ashraf area in Nihm district of Sana’a province, and a raid on the city of al-Rabua’a in Asir region.

On this day in the year 2018, nine citizens were killed and 11 others were wounded in a raid by the aggression on a bus carrying displaced people between al-Jarrahi and Zabid in Hodeida province, and five raids targeted Jabal al-Arish area in Jabal Ras district.

The aggression warplanes launched three raids on al-Sahi area in Karesh district of Lahj province, two raids on alaf and al-Azqul areas in Sahar district, a raid on Sheda district, and two raids on Taibat al-Esm area in Ketaf district of Sa’ada province .

In Sa’ada province , the aggression warplanes launched two raids on al-Qarrad area in Baqim district, which was subjected to Saudi missile and artillery bombardment that targeted the citizens’ properties and houses, while the warplanes launched four raids on al-Rabua’a in Asir region.

The aggression warplanes launched a raid on al-Azab area in Qataba district in Dhale province, and a raid on Mawiyah district in Taiz province.

In 2020, the aggression warplanes hit Qaniya district and al-Suwadiya district with ten raids, al-Bayda province, and launched eight raids on the districts of Dhi Naem, Nati`, and Radman, and a raid near Isolation health center in Afar customs.

The aggression warplanes also launched four raids on Hayran district, a raid on Haradh district in Hajjah province, and 13 raids on separate areas in Majzar district of Marib province, causing damage to public and private property.

In Hodeida province, the mercenaries bombed separate areas with 90 artillery shells and live bullets, and bombed with heavy and medium weapons several neighborhoods Hodeida city, and targeted with artillery and various machine guns the homes and farms of citizens in al-Jabalia area of al-Tuhaita district.

Two houses were burned in the mercenaries’ shelling with heavy and medium weapons on the city of al-Durayhimi.

The aggression warplanes launched a raid on al-Fara district in Ketaf district, and a raid on al-Dhaher district in Sa’ada province, and also launched a raid south of al-Mazhet junction in Harf Sufyan district, Amran province .

On June 26, 2021, four citizens, including children, were injured after being targeted by a mortar shell by the mercenaries of the aggression in al-Nasiri in al-Tuhaita district, Hodeida province , and the mercenaries created combat fortifications in Hays and al-Durayhimi, and bombed with 89 artillery shells and various bullets several areas in the province , while the spy planes launched six Raids on Kilo 16, al-Faza and al-Jabaliya areas.

A citizen was killed by Saudi border guard fire in the Al-Raqo area of the border district of Munabbih in Saada governorate, while the warplanes launched a raid on the Al-Zahir district in the same governorate, two raids on the Khub Washa`af district in Al-Jawf governorate, and two raids on the Nati` district in Al-Bayda governorate.

The hostile air force launched ten raids on the Serwah district and three raids on the Medghal, Raghwan and Rahba districts in Ma’rib governorate.

On this day in the year 2022, the mercenaries of the aggression created combat fortifications in the vicinity of the city of Ma’rib, the Defense Hill in Jizan, the Bekaa, and the Hammad Square in Najran, and in the south of Haradh district in Hajjah governorate.

The mercenaries opened fire on citizens’ houses and several areas in the provinces of Marib, Taiz, Hajjah, Sa’ada, Dhale, Bayda and the border fronts, and targeted, with intense artillery shelling, al-Balq al-Sharqi and Mala’a in Marib province, Haradh and Bani Hassan in Hajjah province, the burial grounds, al-Malahidh, Razih and Munabeh in Sa’ada province, and al-Sakhra area in Asir region and Twillaq mount and al-Amud in Wadi Jarah in Jizan, and al-Kanab al-Qadem in Jizan region.

Bulgarian Council for Economic Analyses Holds First Annual Conference

The first annual conference of the Bulgarian Council for Economic Analyses is held on June 26 and 27 at the St. Kliment Ohridski University of Sofia, Bulgarian News Agency quoted the council as saying Monday. Prime Minister Nikolay Denkov took part in the opening of the forum.

The Bulgarian Council for Economic Analysis was established in early 2023 by Decree of the Council of Ministers and has an advisory character. Its members include economists from the academic community of prestigious universities and international institutions. Its objective is to focus attention on issues important for Bulgaria’s socio-economic development and to prepare independent analyses on individual issues on the state of the national economy, the challenges it faces, and possible policies to address them.

The conference is organized jointly by the Council of Ministers, Sofia University, with the participation of its Faculty of Economics, and the European Economic Association.

Within its framework research papers will be presented on monetary and fiscal policy, climate change policy, inflation, systemic risk and banking, taxes, income inequality, and the labor market.

Jeddah to Host FIFA Club World Cup 2023

The Saudi Arabian Football Federation (SAFF) and the Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) announced today that Jeddah will host the next edition of the FIFA Club World Cup 2023.

This follows an official visit made by a FIFA delegation to Jeddah last week to inspect the ongoing preparations to host the tournament, which will be held from December 12 to 22 this year.

SAFF President Yasser Al-Mis’hal said Jeddah is ready to hold this year’s edition of FIFA Club World Cup and to provide an unprecedented experience for players and fans as the city has a history of organizing major sporting events, and owns a wide range of advanced facilities and a strong infrastructure, adding that being chosen to host this championship is testimony to the Kingdom’s position, and its capability to host major international sporting events.

“The sports sector is a fundamental pillar of the continuous transformation process that the Kingdom is witnessing, as per Saudi Vision 2030, and enjoys unlimited support from the Saudi leadership. Saudi Arabia has succeeded in establishing its position as one of the most important and fastest growing sports destinations globally,” Al-Mis’hal said, stressing that hosting a tournament of the World Cup caliber presents an opportunity to develop the game locally, take it to new heights, show the true image of the Kingdom, and highlight the hospitality of its people and their great passion for football. He also underlined the importance of cooperating and coordinating continuously with FIFA in order to organize an exceptional edition of the tournament.

FIFA experts inspected the main infrastructure and stadiums nominated to host the tournament, including King Abdullah Sports City and Prince Abdullah Al-Faisal Stadium, as well as several training and accommodation facilities.

Italy hands over two naval units to Libya to support the coast guard and port security.

The Presidency of the General Staff announced the arrival of two new naval boats at the Tripoli Naval Base, type “Krubia”, after receiving them from Italy, for use in law enforcement in the waters under the sovereignty of Libya.

The communication office of the Presidency of the General Staff of the Libyan Army said on its Facebook page, that this comes within the framework of Libyan-Italian cooperation and in implementation of the agreements and commitments between the two sides in supporting the Coast Guard and port security with the support and sponsorship of the European Union.

It added that the Chief of Staff of the Naval Forces, Major General Noureddine Al-Boni, visited the two boats yesterday before carrying out their duties, in the presence of the commander of the Tripoli Naval Base, the commander of the Naval Operations Division, and the commanders of the departments and sectors of the Coast Guard and Ports Security.
