Tourism Minister Announces 4.45% Growth in GDP from Tourism Sector

The Minister of Tourism, Ahmed bin Aqeel Al-Khateeb, announced that the tourism sector in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has experienced a remarkable 4.45% growth in the gross domestic product (GDP).

During his participation in the 10th Arab-China Business Conference, Minister Al-Khateeb highlighted that the ministry developed comprehensive plans for the travel and tourism sector, which is 3% of the labour market.

“The Kingdom will invest more than $800 billion during the next ten years”, the Minister said. Moreover, he noted that tourists may acquire Saudi tourist visas electronically.

Since the launch of tourism initiatives, 49 countries have been allowed to obtain electronic visas.

10th Arab-China Business Conference Concludes First Day with Signing Agreements Worth Over $10 Billion

The first day of the 10th Arab-China Business Conference, hosted by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, concluded with the signing of 30 investment agreements worth over $10 billion (SAR 37.5 billion) across several sectors. These sectors encompass technology, renewables, agriculture, real estate, minerals, supply chains, tourism, and healthcare.

The conference boasted an extensive agenda, attracting thousands of participants. Panel discussions, workshops, meetings, and side events covered a range of significant topics, including social and environmental responsibility, governance, and strengthening supply chain resilience.

This mega-gathering saw the participation of more than 3,500 business leaders, innovators, and decision-makers from over 26 countries, solidifying its status as a prominent platform for collaboration and investment opportunities.

Olympic team delegation heads to Iraq to participate in West Asian Championship

The delegation of the Olympic football team went to the Iraqi capital, Baghdad, to participate in the West Asian U-23 Championship, which is being hosted by the cities of Baghdad and Karbala from 12 to 20 June.

Yesterday, the Olympic team finished its preparatory program in the Egyptian capital, Cairo, led by Czech coach Miroslav Skop, who chose the final list for the tournament, which starts on Monday.

The Yemeni Olympian will begin his tournament in the tournament next Wednesday, by meeting his Omani rival, in the meeting that will be hosted by Al-Madina International Stadium in the capital, Baghdad, as part of the first round of Group C competitions, before facing his Lebanese counterpart next Friday, at the end of the preliminary round.

According to the tournament system, the champion of each group qualifies for the semi-finals with the best second of the three groups.

Positive trends for investments in fisheries sector in Hodeida

Jun 11. 2023 (Saba) -The efforts of the Ministry of Fisheries, during the current stage, are directed towards stimulating investment in the fishing sector in the Red Sea coast in Hodeida Governorate, through a number of projects related to marine products, which will contribute to supporting the national economy.

The Ministry of Fisheries revealed a matrix of procedures and arrangements for the implementation of promising investment projects, which will improve and sustain the fish and marine sector, increase fishing productivity and strengthen the local economy at a cost of $19,75,645.

Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry of Fisheries for the Investment and Research Sector, Mustafa Hataba, explained to the Yemeni News Agency (Saba), that the ministry began, through some steps and coordination with the investment side, to work to stimulate investors in this promising sector according to well-studied plans and programs.

Hataba pointed out that these projects are related to food industries related to fish and seafood, and differ in the activities carried out by each project, as they will work to provide quality and efficiency in production, processing and marketing.

He pointed to the work done to prepare for investment in the fishing and fish sector through Tharawat Al Bahr Company, for canning and exporting fish and marine life Ltd., which began equipping the ice factory with the latest technologies at a cost of three million and 766 thousand dollars.

He indicated that two plots of land were handed over to establish an ice factory and invest in providing ice molds for fishermen, which contributes to enhancing work and production efficiency in the fishing sector, as the factory will produce more than three thousand ice molds per day of high quality.

Al-Wakil Hataba stated that two plots of land were recently handed over in the industrial zone in Hodeida, to establish two factories for canning tuna and sardines, at a cost of five million and 714 thousand dollars, and for the manufacture of canned marine products, at a cost of six million, 628 thousand and 534 dollars.

The establishment of two factories was considered one of the most important directions for the development of the fish sector in the country, as the first factory would ensure the preservation of the quality of the product and enable it to be used for a long time, while the other factory would grind fish and produce fish oil for use in the food and pharmaceutical industries.

The Assistant Undersecretary stated that a factory for preparing fish and manufacturing marine products is currently being completed at a cost of two million and 967 thousand dollars. He indicated that the percentage of completion in the project, which will prepare frozen, canned, smoked and dried fish, and prepare them for use in food products, is about 60 percent.

Hataba emphasized that the “Wealth of the Sea” and “Aflak for the manufacture of boats, ships, fishing equipment and supplies” companies specialize in various fields within the fish and marine sector, and provide wide job opportunities in many fields.

He stated that there are two new companies that will form strong competition, one of which focuses on projects in the field of the fish and marine sector, while the other works on fish farming and the cultivation of marine crops.

The Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry of Fisheries expressed his optimism about future investments in the fish and marine sector, stressing that they will contribute to achieving self-sufficiency and food security, and provide new job opportunities in the field of marketing and export.

He also stressed the keenness of the Ministry of Fisheries to find fruitful cooperation between the institutions and stakeholders, in order to ensure the achievement of positive results and the prosperity of the fish sector. Crimes of US-Saudi aggression on this day, June 11

On this day, June 11, the US-Saudi-Emirati aggression committed heinous crimes against the Yemeni people, targeting homes, water wells, service facilities, and infrastructure.

On June 11, 2015, nine citizens, including seven women, were killed as a result of the aggression’s warplanes targeting a water well in the Al-Qadam area in the Haydan district of Saada governorate, while an elderly woman was killed and a citizen was wounded in two air raids on three homes of citizens in the Maran area of the same district.

The aggression warplanes launched a series of raids on the Bani Sayah area in Razih district, a water tank, Al-Nasser Al-Atroush School, Jabal Ras Issa, Al-Jumaima area in Maran, Jabal Al-Muftah in Haidan, and a citizen’s house in Baqim district.

Two citizens were also killed, in the bombing of the aggression’s warplanes on the Al-Ghayl district in Al-Jawf Governorate, and a number of raids targeted the building of the Economic Corporation branch in Al-Hazm city, which led to material damage to it and to the buildings of Al-Hazm General Hospital and the Communications Branch.

On this day in the year 2016, the hostile aircraft launched a raid on the Bani Rabih area in the Harib al-Qarameesh district in the Ma’rib governorate, and a citizen was wounded in another raid on his farm in the same district, while the mercenaries launched artillery shelling on separate areas in the Serwah district.

The hostile aircraft launched a raid on the Al-Mazraq area in the Haradh district of Hajjah governorate, and Saudi artillery bombardment targeted the Haradh and Midi districts.

In Al-Jawf Governorate, mercenaries bombed a water well in Al-Matoon district and citizens’ homes in Al-Matoon district, which led to the burning of two houses.

A citizen was killed and five others, including children and women, were injured when a cluster bomb left over from the aggression exploded in the Al-Hanisha area in Taiz governorate, while the mercenaries bombed the residential Al-Darba neighborhood in the city, the city of Dhubab and separate areas in Al-Shabaka and Al-Ghawi in Al-Wazia district.

On June 11, 2017, the aggression launched seven raids on the areas of Al-Matar, Al-Rabiah, and Haylan in the Serwah district of Ma’rib governorate, which caused damage to the citizens’ farms, while the mercenaries targeted separate areas in the district with artillery shelling.

The aggression warplanes launched three raids on the Al-Naqil line in Al-Silw district, a raid on Jabal Al-Munim in Al-Dabab in Taiz governorate, and seven raids on Haradh and Midi districts in Hajjah governorate.

On this day in the year 2018, four citizens were killed and two were wounded, as a result of a raid by the aggression warplanes on Kamaran Island in Al-Hodeidah Governorate.

The warplanes targeted the Al-Sahi area in the Karsh district of Lahj governorate.

A woman was injured and a number of citizens’ homes were damaged as a result of Saudi missile and artillery shelling on the Razih district in Saada governorate. At the same time, the warplanes launched a series of raids on separate areas in the district, which caused severe damage to citizens’ property.

The aggression warplanes launched two raids on the Takhiya area in the Majz district, a raid on the Al Sabhan area in the Baqim district, and a raid on the Akwan area in the Al Safra district.

The aggression warplanes targeted the Al-Silw district in Taiz governorate, and launched a raid on the Technical Institute in the Abs district, Hajjah governorate.

In Al-Hodeidah Governorate, the aggression warplanes launched seven raids on Al-Arj area in Bajil district, and a raid on Al-Jabbana area in Al-Hali district.

On June 11, 2019, the aggression warplanes launched three raids on the Kataf district and four raids on the Baqim district in Saada governorate.

The mercenaries bombed with more than 21 artillery shells the 7th of July neighborhood, the Mobile Company, the direction of City Max, and the Al-Ittihad and Al-Qimma hotels in the city of Hodeidah, while combing them with light and medium machine guns.

The aggression’s warplanes launched 13 raids on the districts of Majzar and Harib al-Qarmish in Ma’rib governorate, eight raids on the Al-Khaniq area in Harib Nihm in Sana’a governorate, and two raids on the Al-Labanat area east of Al-Jawf.

In the province of Hodeidah, the mercenaries of the aggression created five combat fortifications in Hays and Al-Jabaliya, and bombed with 90 artillery shells and various bullets several areas in the governorate, and they also bombed with more than 15 mortar shells the Al-Jabaliya area in Al-Tuhita district.

On June 11, 2021, a citizen was injured by Saudi missile and artillery shelling on the border district of Shada in Saada governorate, while the warplanes launched four raids on the Al-Faraa area in the Kitaf district.

The hostile warplanes targeted, with 11 raids, the Serwah district, and two raids, the Medghal district in Ma’rib governorate, which caused damage to citizens’ homes and farms.

A citizen was injured when a cluster bomb, remnants of the aggression, exploded in a terrifying isolation in the Nehm district, Sana’a governorate.

The mercenaries bombed with 25 artillery shells and various bullets different areas in Al-Hodeidah Governorate, while the spy planes launched two raids on the Kilo 16 area in Al-Durayhimi district.

On this day in the year 2022, the mercenaries of the aggression created combat fortifications around the vicinity of the city of Ma’rib, and targeted with five Katyusha missiles and artillery the areas of the eastern Balq, Rawdat Jahannam, Al-Rawdha and Mala’a in the same governorate.

They also bombed Haradh and Bani Hassan in Hajjah governorate, Al-Malaheedh in Saada governorate, Bab Ghalaq in Al-Dhalea governorate, and Al-Amud in Wadi Jarah in Jizan.

The mercenaries fired at citizens’ homes and separate areas in the Marib, Taiz, Hajjah, Saada, Al-Dhalea governorates, and the border fronts.
