Bulgarian Council for Economic Analyses Holds First Annual Conference

The first annual conference of the Bulgarian Council for Economic Analyses is held on June 26 and 27 at the St. Kliment Ohridski University of Sofia, Bulgarian News Agency quoted the council as saying Monday. Prime Minister Nikolay Denkov took part in the opening of the forum.

The Bulgarian Council for Economic Analysis was established in early 2023 by Decree of the Council of Ministers and has an advisory character. Its members include economists from the academic community of prestigious universities and international institutions. Its objective is to focus attention on issues important for Bulgaria’s socio-economic development and to prepare independent analyses on individual issues on the state of the national economy, the challenges it faces, and possible policies to address them.

The conference is organized jointly by the Council of Ministers, Sofia University, with the participation of its Faculty of Economics, and the European Economic Association.

Within its framework research papers will be presented on monetary and fiscal policy, climate change policy, inflation, systemic risk and banking, taxes, income inequality, and the labor market.
