The President of the Presidential Council meets a number of academics, dignitaries and sheikhs in Libya

The President of the Presidential Council, “Muhammad Al-Manfi”, met today, Wednesday, with a number of academics, notables, and sheikhs in Libya, to discuss ways to support the national reconciliation file led by the Council.

The academics, notables, and sheikhs praised the positive role of the Presidency Council in making the reconciliation file a success, and in the political process in general, affirming their support for the political leadership represented by the Presidency Council and its president in all files that it deals with.

In turn, Al-Manfi emphasized during the meeting the role of academics, notables and sheikhs in Libya in order to support the reconciliation file and activate it in a real way throughout the country.

He said that the Presidential Council deals with all Libyan regions and cities alike, and deals with all international and local parties as partners, and listened to everyone through our meetings and visits to the east, south and west.

Al-Manfi explained that the Council dealt with all political and social files positively in a way that serves the interest of the country and the citizen, including the files of the release of political detainees, and the return of the displaced in the country in general to their cities and regions.

Norland: We commend Bathily’s briefing to the UNSC.

U.S. Special Envoy Ambassador to Libya, Richard Norland, commended the briefing of the Special Representative of the Secretary-General to Libya, Abdoulaye Bathily, to the UN Security Council.

“The briefing identified the key obstacles to defining a credible roadm ANI to parliamentary and presidential elections,” Norland said in a tweet.

Norland reaffirmed U.S. support for Bathily’s efforts to bring Libyans together to overcome those obstacles.

Ministry of Foreign Affairs: Libya sends urgent medical aid to Sudan.

A Libyan plane carrying 14 tons of urgent medical aid arrived at the Sudanese airport in Port Sudan, according to what was announced yesterday by the GNU-Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The ministry said in a tweet that the shipment is provided by the Government of National Unity within the framework of Libya’s support for the brotherly Sudanese people and based on the brotherly and humanitarian responsibility in these difficult circumstances that it is going through.

Minister of Economy discusses with the Spanish Director General of Foreign Trade the return of Spanish companies to Libya.

The Acting Minister of Economy and Trade, Suhail Boushiha, discussed with the Director General of Foreign Trade and Investment in Spain, Alicia Varela, efforts to enhance trade exchange and the return of Spanish companies to work in Libya.

Boushiha, during the meeting held yesterday at the headquarters of the ministry’s office in the presence of the Spanish Ambassador to Libya and a number of owners of Spanish companies, affirmed that Spanish companies are exempted from previous fees during their cessation of work in Libya as a step to encourage them to return to Libya.

Boushiha stressed the stability that Libya is witnessing under the Government of National Unity, which provides investment opportunities in all areas, especially construction, renewable energies, and infrastructure.

For her part, Varela expressed the desire of the Spanish companies to strengthen commercial relations with the private sector in Libya.

Boushiha urged the Spanish side to conclude a partnership with the local private sector and organize joint economic activities between the two countries, stressing the need to provide all facilities from Spain to Libyan businessmen wishing to invest in Spain.

Several Palestinians Injured After Israeli Drone Targeted Vehicle North Jenin

Several Palestinian citizens were injured Wednesday when a vehicle was targeted by an Israeli drone northern Jenin in the West Bank.

An aircraft of the Israeli occupation targeted a vehicle near Al-Jalama town north of Jenin and the vehicle’s drivers had not been identified, local Palestinian sources reported, pointing out that clashes are ongoing between Palestinians and the occupation’s forces at the northern entry of Jenin City.

The occupation’s forces prevented ambulance vehicles and civil defense operators from arriving at the site that caught fire due to the occupation’s attack, the sources said, adding that the occupation’s forces opened fire on Palestinians when they attempted enter the site of the targeted vehicle.
