Royal Directive: Extending Work of Citizen Account Program and Temporary Additional Support for Beneficiaries

The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, has directed the extension of the Citizen Account Program in its current mechanism, along with the provision of temporary additional support to its beneficiaries for four more months until the batch of July 2023. This decision was made based on the recommendation of His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince, Prime Minister, and Chairman of the Economic and Development Affairs Council, and is part of the government’s ongoing efforts to support eligible families and shield them from the impact of global price hikes.

This latest directive is a continuation of previous directives issued by the King, including the allocation of SR20 billion, with SR8 billion as additional financial support for the beneficiaries of the Citizen Account Program at the end of the fiscal year 2022. Registration for the program was also re-opened based on the previously announced regulations. Furthermore, in January 2023, the King issued another directive to extend the additional support for the first quarter of the current fiscal year by three months, until March.
