US Ambassador to Libya, Richard Norland, said that his country rejects any electoral process that leads to instability in Libya.

Norland stressed, in a televised interview broadcast yesterday, the necessity of resolving the existing controversy regarding the identity of the candidates for the presidential elections, given that it was the reason for postponing the last elections, pointing to the presence of controversial figures in the political scene, calling on the Libyans to resolve their position regarding the candidates for the elections.

The US ambassador stated that the political agreement is an important part of the electoral process, stressing the need to expel mercenaries to resolve this file, reiterating his support for the efforts of the UN envoy to Libya, “Abdullah Batili”, to reach the 2023 election.

On the twenty-fifth of last March, America adopted a strategy to prevent conflict and promote stability in Libya (the ten-year strategic plan for Libya), after US President Joe Biden announced that his country would give priority to participation and partnership with Libya.

Minister of Communications and the Algerian Ambassador are discussing the opening of the border crossing (Dabdab) to facilitate traffic.

Minister of Communications in the Government of National Unity, “Mohamed Al-Shahoubi”, discussed today, Wednesday, with the Algerian Ambassador to Libya, “Suleiman Chenine,” the problems and obstacles that delayed the opening of the border crossing (Dabdab Ghadames) and how to solve them, and open the crossing as soon as possible to facilitate traffic movement .

The Ministry of Communications stated that the meeting reviewed issues of common interest in the field of transportation and discussed aspects of cooperation and opening horizons in all fields related to the transportation sector.
