Head of the National Unity Government meets the mayors of the eastern region’s municipalities.

Tripoli, The Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity, Abdel Hamid al-Dabaiba, met today, Tuesday, with the mayors of the municipalities of the eastern region, who are participating in the first regular meeting of the local administration for the year 2022.

The meeting, which was held at the Cabinet’s Bureau, was attended by Deputy Prime Minister Hussein Attia Al-Qatrani, the ministers of housing and construction, local government, the interior, sports, and the state for cabinet affairs, directors of the implementing agencies of housing projects, the implementation of transportation projects, the development of administrative centers, and the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Local Government for municipalities.

The meeting was also attended by the mayors of the municipalities of Al-Abyar, Al-Abraq, Bir Al-Ashhab, Musaed, Tobruk, Medawar Al-Zaytoun, Shahat, Jakhra, Jallow, Tazerbu, Kufra, Zamzam, Al-Qubba, Al-Bayda, Marsa Dafna, Sahel Al-Jabal, Al-Wefaq, Tocra, Khaliej Sidra, Al-Bardi, Al-Marj, Wardamah, Omar Al-Mukhtar, Sousse, Murada, Melitania.

The media office of the Prime Minister said that the meeting was devoted to following up on the problems and difficulties facing these municipalities and the projects that have been implemented through the municipal financial allocations for the year 2021, as well as through the executive bodies.

They also discussed what has been implemented of transferring competencies and activating the local administration, as well as revenue fees and how to benefit from them, according to the media office.

The media office added that “Al-Dabaiba” stressed the need to support the local administration by supporting the municipalities, and transferring competencies to the municipality so that it can provide services to citizens.
