‘Davos of digital wellbeing’ gets underway with ambition to drive greater understanding of digital harms

DHAHRAN, Saudi Arabia, March 29, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — The Sync Digital Wellbeing Summit is set to get underway today at The King Abdulaziz Centre for World Culture (Ithra), Saudi Arabia. The two-day event – hosted both virtually and at Ithra – will bring together leaders from across tech, academia, sports, culture and policy, providing a platform for thought leaders to develop new solutions for protecting the wellbeing of digital media users worldwide.

Focusing in on five key areas of concern, Summit sessions will invite speakers to offer insight and perspective on the topics of digital addiction, privacy, fake news and misinformation, relationships and algorithms. It is hoped that the exchange of ideas and knowledge can help to inspire tangible change in how we interact with, regulate and design digital platforms.

Amit Sevak Named Next President and CEO of ETS

PRINCETON, N.J., March 28, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — Today, the ETS Board of Trustees announced Amit Sevak will join the organization as its seventh president and chief executive officer.

Sevak has held leadership roles around the world, including at the University of Europe in Madrid, INTI International University & Colleges in Kuala Lumpur and Universidad Tecnológica de México (UNITEC) in Mexico City. He has served with many nonprofits, including Cambiar Education, CitiBridge, and Education Design Lab. More recently, he provided coaching and capital to edtech startups throughout the world at Mindset Global.

Al-Mishri stresses the independence of the Oil Corporation and spares it any political disturbances or quarrels.

Tripoli, The head of the Supreme Council of State, “Khaled Al-Mishri,” stressed the independence of the institution and spared it any political disturbances or quarrels.

This came during a meeting held by “Al-Mishri” today, Tuesday, at the council’s headquarters in Tripoli, with the head of the National Oil Corporation, “Mustafa Sanalla”, to review the general activity of the oil sector and the progress of work in the institution.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed the problems facing the National Oil Corporation and ways to solve them, according to what was published by the Council’s media office on its official Facebook page.

The meeting also touched on the Foundation’s efforts in development work to increase production rates and its sustainability, especially in light of current events in the world.

Shakshak reviews with Head of Operations of European Union Mission in Libya development plan of State Audit Bureau.

Tripoli, President of the Audit Bureau, “Khaled Shakshak,” discussed, Tuesday, with the Head of Operations of the European Union Mission in Libya, Sandra Guffin, cooperation in implementing development plan projects for the State Audit Bureau.

The meeting was attended by the undersecretary of the Diwan, director of the EU project team “Support for Libya”, Lily Habash, the coordinator of the European Union project, Salma bin Taqieh and the governance expert in the European Union project, “Haitham Younes”, in the presence of the Director of the General Administration of Human Resources, and the Director of the Office of Plans, Systems and Quality Assurance .

During the meeting, they discussed the possibility of supporting some projects through the programme, and defining cooperation frameworks in implementing the development projects contained in the strategic plan of the Diwan, through the Libya Support Programme, and providing all the facilities and support required for its success, according to what the Diwan published on its official page on the “Facebook” website.

Ministry of Economy calls for exclusion of Libya from export ban measures recently issued by Turkish Republic.

Tripoli, The Ministry of Economy and Trade demanded that the Libyan state be exempted from the export ban measures recently issued by the Turkish Republic.

This came during a meeting held by the Director of the Administrative and Financial Affairs Department at the Ministry of Economy, Tareq Al-Najjar with the chief commercial advisor at the Embassy of the Republic of Turkey in Libya to enhance trade exchange and cooperation between the two countries and implement the process of importing flour, estimated at 150,000 tons. During the meeting, Al-Najjar called for not imposing restrictions on contracts for the supply of goods concluded with Libyan companies, according to what was published by the official page of the Ministry of Economy and Trade on Facebook.

The meeting, which was attended by the directors of the departments of foreign trade, international cooperation, studies and economic reforms, and the director of the Follow-up Office, discussed the mechanism for implementing the process of importing flour by contracting with companies and factories in the Republic of Turkey and facilitating procedures through ports in cooperation with the Turkish embassy in the State of Libya.
