Al Mnefi underscores importance of maintaining independence of the Libyan Investment Corporation and protecting its assets

Tripoli-President of the Presidential Council Mohammed Al Mnefi met on Monday Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Libyan Investment Corporation Ali Mahmoud, who briefed him on the work of the corporation, its efforts to preserve Libyan assets abroad, and the challenges it faces.

The President of the corporation reviewed all matters relating to the investments of the corporation, seizing of its assets in some countries, and the actions to be taken to recover these assets.

The President of the Presidential Council emphasized the independence of the institution, as a sovereign fund owned by future generations, distancing it from political tensions, not using it as a pressure and blackmail card, and intensifying efforts to protect it.

During the meeting held at the Council’s office, Al Mnefi stressed that the assets of this investment institution should not be compromised and that they should be supported so that they can perform the tasks assigned to them.

This came during his meeting today with the head of the Audit Bureau, Khaled Shakshak, and the head of the Administrative Control Authority, Suleiman Al-Shanti, according to the media office of the President of the Presidential Council.

Al-Manfi stressed the importance of the work carried out by the Bureau and the Authority, as they are two oversight institutions authorized to apply the laws and regulations in force in detecting financial and administrative violations in government institutions, and following up on their work mechanism. of abuses.

For their part, Shakshak and Al-Shanti stressed that the Bureau and the authority implement the regulations and laws in force to combat corruption and administrative abuses, in accordance with the action plans set by specialists, to ensure the smooth and fair workflow of government institutions.
