The Military Commission 5+5 deported 300 Sudanese fighters last week to their country by air.

Tripoli, A member of the Joint Military Commission 5+5 has expressed hope that politicians will reach an agreement to get the country out of the current state, as the commission undertakes its tasks as best as it could.

Amraj’i Al-Amami, a member of the Military Commission said in a press statement that they were able, as a committee (last week to airlift 300 fighters of Sudanese nationality to their country, and to implementing exit mechanisms for Turkish and Russian forces, which their countries have promised to be placed under the supervision of the international community to begin their implementation by the two parties under the supervision of international observers).

Al-Amami added: the Joint Military Commission 5+5 was in a permanent meeting and continues and work to accomplish its tasks .

Acting speaker of House of Representatives invites members to official meeting on Monday.

Tobruk, The Acting speaker of the House of Representatives Fawzi Al Noweiri invited members of the House to attend an official session to be held on Monday Jan. 3, 2022 at the Parliament headquarters in Tobruk, during which the chairman and members of the Board of Directors of the High National Election Commission will testify on the progress of the electoral process and arising tasks.

The House spokesman Abdullah Bleiheg made the announcement in a statement posted Saturday on his SMS page.

Chairman of House Foreign Affairs Committee discusses with Greek Ambassador strengthening of relations, facilitating travel procedures and opening direct airlines and navigation routes.

Tobruk, Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the House of Representatives Youssef Al-Aqouri discussed with Greek Ambassador to Libya Iwanis Stamatikos ways to strengthen relations between the two countries, including facilitating travel procedures and opening of direct airlines and navigation routes between the two countries.

During the meeting, held through video link, Al-Aqouri stressed commitment of the House of Representatives to the historical and geographical relations between the two countries in all fields, pointing to the important role of Greece in the region.

For his part the Greek Ambassador expressed his country’s keenness to strengthen relations with Libya.

Sources of the House of Representatives said on Saturday, the meeting dealt with the exclusive economic zone between Libya and Greece, and the maritime agreement concluded by the previous government with the Republic of Turkey. Al Aqouri said in addition to its commitment to the national interests of the country, the House of Representatives also takes into account the stability of the Eastern Mediterranean region and a just and comprehensive agreement on the sharing of eastern Mediterranean resources.

He said that the maritime agreement between Libya and Turkey was not forwarded by the government at the time to the House of Representatives for review and discussion. At the end of the meeting, the two sides agreed to continue meetings and exchange visits for further coordination and discussions on issues of concern to both countries.

Presidential Council Spokesperson reviews prominent decisions and actions taken by the Council since it took office in March.

Tripoli, The Presidency Council has worked since taking office in March to establish Libya’s first presidential office to be a ready institution for the first head of state to be elected in the future, a spokeswoman for the Presidential Council said.

On the most prominent decisions taken by the Presidential Council, Najwa Wahiba explained in a report that the Council established the National Commission for Reconciliation, launched community dialogues, especially with young people, and worked with the Ministry of Justice and the Joint Military Commission to release detainees and prisoners, to achieve reconciliation and made efforts to unify institutions across the country, especially the central bank and the military institution, and its decisions were taken unanimously.

Wahiba pointed out that the Presidential Council, as commander-in-chief of the army, has offered concrete cooperation with the military committee to open the coastal highway, and developed a plan to withdraw mercenaries and foreign fighters simultaneously and discussed this when it required political visits by the President of the Council Mohammed Al Mnefi and his deputies Musa al-Koni and Abdullah al-Lafi.

In her report, Wahiba referred to the council’s calls for Europe to change its strategy of dealing with illegal migration, focusing on the Sahara countries rather than the Sahel, and calling on the legislature and the institutions concerned to act real and quickly to fix the flaws in the electoral process, and to hold simultaneous presidential and parliamentary elections as soon as possible.
