The Benghazi municipality is following up the procedures for compensating citizens whose properties were damaged as a result of the war that took place in the past years.

Benghazi The head of the Benghazi municipality’s steering council, “Al-Saqr Omran Bujwari,” met with the head of the debts of the Ministry of Housing and Construction in the Eastern Region, “Abu Bakr Al-Barghathi” and the director of the Housing and Utilities Office in the municipality, “Imad Akweri” procedures to compensate citizens whose properties were damaged by the war in the city in the past years.

The meeting, which was held in the presence of a number of members of the Damage Survey Committee, discussed the measures taken by the committee regarding the inventory of damaged buildings, as the committee provided a full explanation of the measures it took during the last period, represented in completing the inventory of (6666) completely and partially damaged properties, and the problems and the difficulties encountered in its work and the possibility of addressing them.

The Chairman of the Steering Council stressed the need to actually start determining the values of these compensations and refer them to the Central Committee of the Ministry of Housing and Construction, as soon as possible, so that the necessary measures are forgotten about allocating the necessary funds and disbursing them to those entitled to them by the competent authority.

He also stressed the continuation of the inventory work for the buildings that were not completed by the committee’s inventory procedures, issuing urgent instructions to provide the committee’s needs for devices and equipment imposed by the nature of the work, provided that the committee provides the municipality with periodic reports on the results of its work.

In its statement on revenue and spending for the year 2021: The Central Bank confirms that customers’ cash withdrawals for the year 2021 have exceeded 35 billion dinars.

Tripoli, The Central Bank of Libya revealed today, Wednesday, that it has achieved a great achievement and a remarkable improvement in providing cash liquidity to all bank branches in the regions of Libya.

The Central Bank added in its statement regarding foreign exchange revenues, uses and liquidity during the period from 1-1-2021 to 12-31-2021 that customers’ cash withdrawals exceeded 35 billion dinars, while what was supplied by banks to the issuance departments of the Central Bank of Libya amounted to 9 billion dinars.

The statement explained that the volume of general trading decreased by 6.3 billion dinars, and bank branches maintained liquidity in their coffers estimated at 2.7 billion dinars, according to the text of the statement.

On the other hand, the bank’s statement confirmed that shipments sent by air to bank branches in the eastern region amounted to 2.2 billion dinars, and to banks in the southern region 1.6 billion dinars.

The Central Bank reveals foreign exchange revenues, uses and liquidity for the year 2021.

Tripoli, The Central Bank of Libya confirmed that the government’s foreign exchange expenditures decreased during the year 2021 compared to previous years, despite the fact that development spending increased by 27% during the same year.

In its statement today regarding foreign exchange revenues, uses and liquidity during the period from 1-1-2021 to 12-31-2021, the bank indicated that documentary credits represent about 45% of foreign exchange uses, and 85% of the emergency expenditures of Chapter Five were spent for development purposes approximately 6 billion dinars.

The bank’s statement confirmed that the tax revenues are not commensurate with the increase in the first chapter expenses, salaries and the like, by about 50% over last year.

He explained that customs revenues are not commensurate with the volume of documentary credits opened by banks, which constitute about 45% of foreign exchange uses, at a value of 10.7 billion dollars.

He pointed out that fuel subsidies still occupy the largest share of subsidies and represent nearly 50% of the subsidies, which is a problem that should be addressed because it causes unfair distribution and waste of public money.

Tripoli, The Legal Affairs Committee of the Supreme Council of State held a meeting today, Wednesday, with the Communication Committee of the Constituent Assembly for the Drafting of the Constitution.

During the meeting, which was held at the council’s headquarters in the capital, Tripoli, a common vision was reached on the developments of the political process and the state of blockage that the country has reached, based on the need to activate the constitutional process for the success of the upcoming elections.

The two committees also stressed the importance of continuing communication and discussion between them in this regard.
