Tripoli, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Najla Al-Mangoush said, in a speech before the Libya Stabilization Conference, held today in Tripoli on Thursday, “Libya, which for eleven years has been suffering from fear, division, chaos, wars, destruction and displacement, brings us together today, its capital, the Mermaid of the Sea, in this historic conference, which the Libyans aspire to be a first step down the road to stability and prosperity, to be followed shortly by a second conference in the bride of cities, Benghazi, and a subsequent meeting in the bride of the desert, Sabha, in the South.
Al-Manqoush added that our meeting today in Tripoli, after all these ordeals, is the biggest support for us in our march towards building a state of justice, tolerance and freedom.
She pointed out that ‘the symbolism of this meeting is very deep for us Libyans, important and historical, and an indication of a time that we passed from chaos, division and dispersion to a time of new stability.’
The Minister explained in her speech that this conference, although as an idea was meant to seek a new Libyan stability, but in its dimensions it is an extension of the endeavors of Berlin, which are appreciated by all Libyans.
Al-Mangoush emphasized that the stability of the country is based only on its full sovereignty over its lands, and that there is no controversy over the sovereignty of the country and the integrity of its territories, and there is no complacency or compromise in that, based on the principle of non-interference in the affairs of others, and taking deterrent measures against anyone who affects the sovereignty of others or works to destabilize their stability.
She explained that political stability guarantees all groups of the people, women, men and youth, the full right to political participation on the basis of competence, trust and empowerment, noting that all Libyans are interested in promoting democratic transformation and are also interested in restoring the sovereignty of the country on its land.
‘Just as we are concerned with democracy and encouraging fair elections that guarantee participation for all segments of the people, we are also concerned with accepting the results of these elections from all segments of the people, She added.
