US Ambassador visits polling station, Admires preparations for the vote.

Tripoli, U.S. Ambassador and Special Envoy to Libya Richard Norland expressed what he described as his fascination with voting preparations in the upcoming elections. He made the announcement in a tweet posted on the US Embassy’s Twitter page after visiting an electoral polling station Monday with the President of the High National Election Commission Emad Al-Sayeh.

“I was impressed by the preparations for the vote during my visit to a model polling station with Dr. Al Sayeh, and Regional Director of the International Foundation for Electoral Systems, Mr. Rubinstein,” Ambassador Norland said in the tweet.

“USAID technical will offer assistance to the High National Election Commission in support of free and fair elections that reflect the will of voters, Norland said.

Since the polling station is a school, I was lucky to meet children participating in the USAID civic education program, he said. “Children represent the future of Libya, and as a parent, I shared my hopes for a peaceful and bright future, he added.
