Transport Minister appreciates efforts of Land Transport Authority in serving pilgrims traveling by land

Minister of Transport Abdulahhab al-Durrah on Monday appreciated the efforts of the Land Transport Regulatory Authority in providing the best services to the pilgrims traveling by land to perform Hajj and Umrah rituals, and facilitating their travel procedures through mass transport companies.

The Minister of Transport indicated, during his meeting today with head of the authority Ibrahim al-Moayyed that the more than 11,000 pilgrims traveling by land receive the care and attention of the revolutionary leadership and the Supreme Political Council.

The minister indicated that the majority of pilgrims and Umrah performers registered in Hajj and Umrah offices are residents of the capital Sana’a, and the provinces administered by the Supreme Political Council with the security authorities, Hajj and Umrah offices, and mass transportation companies.

The Minister of Transport pointed to the importance of organizing and facilitating the movement of means of transport within Hodeida province and resolving the problem of congestion resulting from the stopping of trucks in the streets.

He directed the Transport Authority to quickly implement the parking project for trucks to facilitate and regulate the movement of transport.

The Head of the Land Transport Regulatory Authority reviewed a report on the pilgrims of the Sacred House of Allah who left by land through 320 mass transport companies, according to previously agreed upon specifications and standards.

He stressed that the Transport Authority and the Ministry of Guidance obligated mass transit companies to provide transport services that guarantee the security and safety of pilgrims.

Al-Moayyed indicated that the authority has a dry port project for the heavy transport truck parking in Hodeida for which studies and economic feasibility have been prepared, pointing out that the project will make a quantum leap in organizing the transport process and the smooth flow of traffic in the province.
