The Italian Foreign Ministry: We are convinced of the necessity of holding the Libyan elections next December.

Rome, The Italian Undersecretary for Foreign Affairs, “Manlio Di Stefano,” stressed the need to work to ensure that credible elections are held during the month of December in Libya.

“We are very convinced of the necessity of holding general elections in Libya at the end of next December, according to what we decided last year,” the Italian Agency Nova quoted on Thursday, from Stefano, during his speech before the European Union’s Trade Council.

He added, “We have to make sure that there is a real common intent and joint planning to reach these elections on the basis of credibility.

He added, “This is the commitment we make, which we share with all stakeholders in the region,”, according to the Italian agency.

It is noteworthy that Italy, in partnership with France and Germany, chairs the Paris Conference on Libya, which will emphasize support for holding the elections on time.
