The General Staff of the Libyan Army salutes the February 17 revolution

Tripoli- The Presidency of the General Staff of the Libyan Army saluted the February 17 revolution that ended a totalitarian regime that lasted for more than four decades, congratulating the Libyan people on the victory of their revolution that ended the rule of tyranny and dictatorship.

The Presidency said in a statement today on the occasion of the 12th anniversary of the February Revolution that February 17th is a different day by all standards, in which the wheel of time moved again in our country, after it was frozen for more than four decades, during which state-building was disrupted, its institutions collapsed, and all manifestations of progress and civility in it stopped. Until it became as if it were living in an era other than its own, so it fell behind in all aspects of modern life, and the cultural manifestations disappeared from its pillars.

The statement added that the hope for emancipation has become a dream of the free people of this land, and in the dawn of the morning there is no prison or jailer in it, so the revolution of February 17 was the awaited morning whose splendor was manifested throughout the country, and its light was covered by nightmares of darkness of more than forty years of oppression and injustice.

The statement noted that 12 years after its outbreak, the Libyan people are still providing evidence that the February Revolution is alive, remaining, igniting its roots within them, and fueled by extensions of their deep belief that it is a revolution of truth over the power of falsehood, and a revolution in order to restore freedom, dignity, and the honor of the Libyan person.

The statement stressed that despite all the pain, wounds, wars, fabricated crises, and others, they could not extinguish the flame of February in the souls, because most of the Libyan people are aware of the reality of the endeavor behind overthrowing February, the intrigues for the return of dictatorship, and the rule of the authoritarian individual, as well as knowing the truth of the infiltrators and those affiliated with February, stressing that the Libyans have become more aware of what is going on around them, and of what is being hatched in public and in secret for their country and their revolution. Therefore, they have remained loyal to their revolution throughout these years, striving to reach the noble goals for which they were established, clinging to them, and for which martyrs fell and huge sacrifices were made.

And the statement went on that the General Staff is aware today that the end of the tyrannical regime is only a step in the beginning of the path of positive change, which passes through difficult, mined paths, and an atmosphere stormed by the winds of conspiracy, failure and intimidation.

The Chiefs of Staff affirmed that it realizes that the path is long, and in the path the martyrs fall, the masks unfold, the metals and stances of men appear, the epics of heroism and steadfastness on the truth are written, and the determination of the free people is tested in the face of all that is hatched for the glorious revolution, and steadfastness until its noble goals are achieved, with the birth of the state of justice and law The state of institutions and the peaceful transfer of power in an atmosphere of responsible freedom, equality and unencumbered dignity, security and safety for the citizen, and the sovereignty of the homeland.

On this occasion, the Presidency of the General Staff offered its warmest congratulations and best wishes to the Libyan people, calling upon everyone to unite their ranks, leave their differences, and prevail over the interest of the wounded country, and intruders lurking from all sides, stressing that it is on the side of the homeland, and with the noble values and goals that The revolution called for it, and the honorable people sacrificed for it.

The statement stressed that the Presidency of the General Staff, at a time when it extends its hands to all Libyans for reconciliation and synergy, will not betray the homeland, nor will it give up its principles in supporting the right, and standing in the face of falsehood, and will not neglect the homeland and its sovereignty, whatever the sacrifices.
