The embassies of America, France, Germany, Italy and Britain welcome Williams’ arrival in Tripoli and affirm their full support for her efforts.

Tripoli, The embassies of France, Germany, Italy, the United Kingdom and the United States “warmly” welcomed the arrival of the Special Adviser to the Secretary-General of the United Nations for Libya, “Stephanie Williams”, to the capital, Tripoli, today, Sunday, according to a tweet published by the US Embassy in Tripoli. Libya via its Twitter account.

The US embassy said in a second tweet: “We affirm our full support for its efforts to help the Libyans conduct peaceful, free and fair, inclusive and credible presidential and parliamentary elections that pave the way for a united and stable future for Libya.”

The United Nations mission had announced earlier today, the arrival of Stephanie Williams to Tripoli to lead the efforts of good offices and mediation and to work with Libyan, regional and international actors to follow up on the implementation of the three tracks of the Libyan-Libyan dialogue and to support the holding of presidential and parliamentary elections.
