The Coast Guard managed to rescue (83) illegal immigrants on a boat north of the Al-Mutrad area

Tripoli- The Chief of Staff of the Naval Forces announced the rescue of (83) illegal immigrants of different African nationalities who were on their way to European shores on a boat north of Al-Mutrad area.

The Information Office, headed by the Naval Forces Staff, explained that the Coast Guard and Port Security moved one of its boats to the spot as soon as it received a call for help and equipped it with the capabilities necessary for the rescue and recovery process, as the members of the agency performed their role to the fullest.

The media office confirmed that the migrants were disembarked after completing the rescue operation at the Zawia refinery point, where they were handed over to the competent authorities in Zawia.

He pointed out that the Anti-Migration Agency will follow up the process of caring for these migrants and complete the procedures for their safe deportation to their countries.
