Sun’Allah: we seek to raise gas production rates to meet needs of the European market

Tripoli, 13 March 2022 (Lana) Libya is currently focusing on raising gas production rates to respond to growing demand in the European market, the head of the National Oil Corporation, Mustafa Sun’Allah announced.

He made the remarks while participating in the “CERAWEEK” conference in Houston, Texas, USA, according to the corporation’s website.

Sun’Allah reiterated his call for reducing gas dependence on electricity generation and relying on electricity generation from alternative energies. He emphasized the Corporation’s strategy to reduce carbon emissions by optimizing gas produced with oil.

During his speech, Sun’Allah touched on some projects to reduce the burning of gas, such as the project to extract cooking gas from incinerator gas at the 186th plant in Al Sharara field, as well as the project to extract cooking gas from the incinerator gas in the field of Al Mabrouk, considering it a contribution to sustainable development that will have an impact on the communities adjacent to the areas of operations of the National Oil Corporation.

The Head of the National Oil Corporation expressed his support and encouragement to international companies operating in Libya and his keenness to create an investment environment to maintain the presence of existing partners and attract other partners.
