Qatar Lays Foundation Stone of Expo Osaka 2025 Pavilion

Doha: The State of Qatar on Tuesday laid the foundation stone of its pavilion for the Expo Osaka 2025, an event that brings together people and innovations from around the world in an effort to address global issues from April 13 to October 13, 2025.

The pavilion highlights Qatar’s achievements along the way towards the Qatar National Vision 2030, and reviews the incentives and investment opportunities it provides.

HE Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Japan, Jaber bin Jarallah Al Marri, who is also Commissioner-General of Expo Osaka 2025, said that Qatar’s participation in this global event affirms the great importance it attaches to the existing friendly and cooperative relations with Japan.

The participation also supports Qatar’s comprehensive strategic partnership that has been consolidated over more than 50 years thanks to the desire and strong political will of the two friendly countries, His Excellency said, pointing out that the participation aims to review the states achievements in various field
s in line with HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani’s wise vision.

His Excellency added that the State of Qatar had participated with a distinguished pavilion in the Expo 2005 Aichi in the city of Nagoya. Qatar’s pavilion in that edition received special patronage and a visit from HH the Father Amir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani.

His Excellency added that Qatar’s participation is an opportunity to develop and strengthen Qatar’s economic and social relations with Japan and the world and embodies Doha’s concerns about many regional and global issues.

For his part, HE Deputy Commissioner-General, Chairman of the Preparation Committee for the State of Qatars participation in Expo Osaka 2025 Sheikh Ali bin Al Waleed Al-Thani indicated that the State of Qatars participation seeks to establish a distinguished and high-level pavilion in terms of design and equipment that reflects its history, heritage, bright present, and promising future in many fields.

It also constitutes an opportunity to showcase t
he country’s development achievements and to introduce and promote the country as a tourist destination and an attractive environment for business and investment in various economic fields, His Excellency added.

He explained that the activities in the pavilion will highlight the states march towards achieving its national vision 2030, as well as reviewing the incentives and investment opportunities provided by the state to implement its plans to achieve economic diversification in accordance with the determinants of the third national development strategy 2024-2030.

The pavilion was designed in cooperation between the Qatar Museums and KKAA, inspired by a combination of common factors of Qatari and Japanese cultures.

Themed Designing Future Society for our Lives, the Expo will also tackle three subthemes – Saving Lives, Empowering Lives and Connecting Lives. The event will bring together participants from 150 countries and 25 international organizations, attracting about 28 million visitors, including 3.5
million visitors from outside Japan.

Qatar’s participation in the exhibition is an opportunity to strengthen trade, industrial and investment cooperation relations with the various participating countries, and to help Qatari businessmen and Qatari companies build strong relationships with the Japanese side and establish businesses and partnerships in various sectors.
