President of the Presidential Council receives the Ambassador of the European Union in Libya.

Tripoli, The President of the Presidential Council, “Mohamed Al-Manfi,” received today, Tuesday, the Ambassador of the European Union to Libya, Jose Sabadell, who briefed the President of the Presidential Council on the agenda of the upcoming African-European Summit in Brussels. The meeting also reviewed the Libyan joint European files.

The President of the Presidential Council assured the European Union Ambassador that the Presidential Council stands at the same distance from all parties and institutions, and places in its priorities the implementation of the national reconciliation project.

Al-Manfi added, “The existing problem is legal and constitutional, and it must be addressed as soon as possible,” and that the Presidential Council seeks for the elections to be the way out and the solution, and that it be as soon as possible.

The President of the Presidential Council stressed the importance of maintaining the popular momentum, to go to the parliamentary and presidential elections, according to the Berlin track and the Geneva Agreement, revealing that the Presidential Council continued to set a general and practical framework, in order to remove mercenaries from all of Libya, referring to the Council’s dealings with the file of mercenaries’ expulsion. With some countries as partners, and rejects any foreign interference of any kind.

Regarding the migration file, Al-Manfi considered it a common file, and it is not only a local file, as Libya is the gateway to Africa for the Europeans, and it is the gateway to Europe for the Africans.
