President of Audit Bureau and Minister of Housing discuss procedures for implementing stalled housing projects

Tripoli- Head of the Audit Bureau, Khaled Shakshak, discussed with the Minister of Housing and Construction the procedures for implementing the stalled housing projects.

The meeting, which was attended by the directors of the relevant departments from the Audit Bureau and the Ministry, discussed efforts to complete the stalled projects by providing financing outside the state’s general budget by concluding a real estate partnership or investment agreement between the public and private sectors.

The two sides also reviewed the requirements and legal procedures taken by the Ministry of Housing and Construction to complete these projects and to identify those requirements in the context of ensuring the implementation of this initiative to complete the housing projects.

Shakshak stressed the importance of this experiment because of its positive effects at all levels to provide housing units for citizens and encourage participation between the public and private sectors.

They agreed to hold a meeting this week at the Ministry of Housing and Construction with all relevant authorities and parties represented by the State Property Authority, the Real Estate Registration Authority and the Savings and Real Estate Investment Bank, to complete the study of all procedures and stages related to activating this initiative through clear and specific work mechanism.
