Ramallah-Palestine demanded that pressure be put on Zionist occupation forces to withdraw their forces from the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound, and to lift restrictions on Muslim and Christian worshippers reaching their places of worship.
This came during contacts and letters to international officials, conducted yesterday by the Permanent Representative of Palestine to the United Nations Riad Mansour, the official Palestinian news agency WAFA reported.
Mansour stressed the need to release those arrested by the Zionist forces, including worshippers, journalists, children, the elderly and women, immediately.
He also called for all efforts to be exerted to stop the Zionist aggression against Palestinian civilians in all areas of the occupied Palestinian territories and to stop their military escalation.”
He called on the international community, particularly the UN Security Council, to “act urgently and responsibly to defuse this very dangerous situation and protect the lives of Palestinian civilians”.
