Oun: The losses of closing the oil fields exceeded 350 thousand barrels per day

The Minister of Oil and Gas in the Government of National Unity, Mohamed Oun, said today, Tuesday, that the losses of closing the oil fields in the southwest of the country exceeded 350 thousand barrels per day after the closure of the El Feel field.

Oun added, in Tuesday’s statements, that the ministry had contacted the members of the Petroleum Facilities Guard, the southwestern branch, who closed the fields and are still insisting on implementing their demands in exchange for reopening the oil fields.

The Minister of Oil and Gas confirmed that the chairmen of the boards of directors of Akakus, Sirte and Mellitah companies complied with the directives issued by the ministry to continue their work, and to follow the correct legal and administrative procedures to resolve existing disputes and problems in order to avoid the loss of oil production.

Personnel affiliated with the Petroleum Facilities Guard closed the El Sharara, El Feel, El Wafa, and Hamada fields, causing losses of more than 350 thousand barrels per day, while the agency’s administration denounced the locking of oil fields and their use as a means of pressure for demands.
