MP: The “Communications” Sector Is The Main Nerve Of Non-Oil Revenues.. But It Is Neglected For These Reasons

The Parliamentary Labor Committee and civil society organizations called for accountability for those responsible for confusion and chaos in the work of the Ministry of Communications.

Member of the committee, MP, Muntaha Abdel-Wahhab Al-Fadhel, stated, in a statement to the National Iraqi News Agency (NINA), that “the communications service in Iraq is the worst among the countries in the region, and the ministry is also suffering so far from chaos, confusion, and the policy of marginalization and exclusion that has harmed the joints of its work.”

She added, “The communications sector is the main nerve of non-oil revenues in the general budget, but it is neglected and unproductive due to corruption files and political interference,” indicating that “the current minister cannot solve these obstacles, as well as her inability to implement the items of the government program prepared for the ministry.”

She continued: “We need a radical change in the Ministry of Communications and restructuring its work and staff to advance this vital sector, and hold those responsible for the continued confusion and chaos in the joints of the ministry’s work accountable.
