Minister of Transport discusses with International Civil Aviation Organization lifting restrictions on Libyan flights over European airspace

Tripoli- Minister of Communications, Mohammed Al-Shoubi and his accompanying delegation discussed with the President of the Council of the International Civil Aviation Organization “ICAO”; The latest steps taken by the Government of National Unity regarding the Libyan aviation sector.

The head of the Civil Aviation Authority, the head of the Airports Authority, the regional director for the Middle East at the International Civil Aviation Organization and the regional expert on aviation safety participated in the meeting, which was held on the sidelines of the ‘Future of Aviation conference’ in Saudi Arabia.

The meeting discussed mechanisms taken by the government to raise the safety of aviation and airports and the resumption of air traffic to some Arab and European destinations.

The meeting touched on mechanisms to support Libya in lifting restrictions imposed on Libyan air traffic over European airspace, in addition to raising the efficiency and capabilities of workers in the field of air safety and aviation security.
