Libyan-Italian Joint Technical Committee commence in Rome

Rome, – The Libyan-Italian Joint Technical Committee held its first meeting in the Italian capital Rome on Tuesday, in the presence of the Acting Minister of Interior Imad Trabelsi his Italian counterpart Matteo Piantidozzi and the chairmen and members of the committee from the two countries.

Trabelsi opened the meeting with a speech in which he stressed importance of activating security cooperation between the two friendly countries, especially with regard to combating illegal migration and securing borders, noting that the ministry has embarked on implementing an action plan of four axes, including protecting desert borders and cities and combating migration in order to address smuggling, drugs, cross-border crime and terrorism.
