Libya sends two humanitarian aid planes to Syria

Tripoli- Today, Sunday, the Government of National Unity sent two humanitarian aid planes and a relief team to Syria.

The Government of National Unity said that the two aid planes were sent carrying food, medicine, children’s clothes and tents, accompanied by a number of volunteers from the Libyan Red Crescent and the Relief Authority.

Arab and foreign countries continue to provide aid to Turkey and Syria, with the aim of helping those affected by the devastating earthquake, which left huge human and material losses in both countries.

A strong earthquake hit the two countries last Monday, killing 31,000 people, according to the latest official toll, and in return, material losses are expected to reach billions of dollars.

Last Tuesday, the National Unity Government sent a shipment of humanitarian aid and a rescue team to Turkey to participate in search and relief operations following the devastating earthquakes there.

The rescue team included members of the National Safety Authority, military medicine, support and emergency medicine, and the Criminal Investigation Agency.
