King Abdulaziz Royal Reserve Limits Access to Protect Flourishing Wildlife and Vegetation

Riyadh: The King Abdulaziz Royal Reserve Development Authority has introduced a new access mechanism for visitors entering Al-Suman area.

Visitors can now access the reserve from 6:00 am to 6:00 pm after obtaining an entry permit through the authority’s website. This initiative aims to balance environmental protection with public access.

The new system aligns with the 2030 strategic goals for royal reserves and the Saudi Green Initiative. It seeks to preserve the environmental gains achieved in the reserve since its establishment in 2018. These gains include flourishing vegetation in valleys and meadows and increased wildlife activity. Limiting vehicle access will further protect plant life and nocturnal wildlife populations.

The King Abdulaziz Royal Reserve is one of seven established by royal decree and boasts government membership within the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN). Located in Riyadh Region, on an area of approximately 28,000 square kilometers, the reserve includes Rawdat A
l-Tanhat, Rawdat Al-Khafs, Rawdat Noura, Al-Dahna, Al-Suman and the surrounding areas.
