Tripoli-The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Government of National Unity has strongly condemned Israeli occupation forces’ storming of the grounds of the Holy Al-Aqsa Mosque at dawn on Friday, and its attack on worshippers there, injuring and arresting dozens of them.
“These serious and repeated attacks carried out by the occupying forces, especially on the nights of the holy month of Ramadan, apart from being a violation of the sanctity of Muslims in performing their religious rites, certainly show the criminal practices espoused by the Israeli occupation and its relentless pursuit of breaching the rights of the Palestinian people and their disregard for Islamic sanctities,” the Ministry said in a press release posted on its official Facebook website.
The Ministry reiterated its rejection of these terrorist acts, stressing need to respect human rights, including and foremost those of Muslim worshippers who should have the freedom and full protection to perform their rituals at the Holy Al-Aqsa Mosque, calling on the international community, particularly the United Nations Security Council, to intervene to deter these criminal attacks, which flout all international resolutions and conventions.
