Under the auspices of Dr. Mohammed bin Mubarak Juma, Education Minister, the Ministry of Education today held a ceremony marking the Word Teachers’ Day.
Hundreds of teachers and officials from the Ministry of Education and the Higher Education Council (HEC) attended the ceremony, held at the Ministry’s Hall in Isa Town.
While addressing the ceremony, Dr. Juma expressed his appreciation and respect for teachers, recalling the giving and dedication of education pioneers in the kingdom.
The minister indicated that the education sector is progressing under the comprehensive development process, led by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, praising the constant interest of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, in developing the educational system and improving its output.
Dr. Juma commended the role played by the Bahrain Teachers College from which generations of highly qualified teachers have graduated, and are currently leading efforts to enhance the quality of the performance of educational institutions and improve the output of the educational process.
He highlighted the Education Ministry’s constant interest in supporting teachers, respecting their roles and appreciating their efforts, announcing the promotion of a large number of teachers to the post of senior teachers, as part of the Ministry’s appreciation for the efforts made by the distinguished personnel in the educational field.
The Education Minister also honoured teachers Kawthar Jaafar Hamza, from Al Qadisiyah Primary Girls’ School, and Zainab Said Salman, from A’Ali Intermediate Girls School, for achieving two advanced positions in the “Mohammed bin Zayed Award for Best Teacher” and reaching the final stages of the award.
The ceremony also featured educational, patriotic and heritage songs by the student orchestra band.
