Director of Tripoli Port to (LANA): 260 thousand tons of food goods were unloaded last February

Tripoli- The Director General of Tripoli Maritime Port, “Misbah Al-Taher”, said that the port is witnessing a good flow of goods, food goods and grains imported to Libya since last February.

The Director General of the port revealed, in an exclusive statement to the Libyan News Agency, today, Sunday, that more than 23 commercial ships, carrying more than 260 thousand tons of food goods, cereals, infant formula and others, were unloaded.

He explained that the quantities of unloaded grains exceeded 58 thousand tons, while liquid bulks amounted to 120,000 tons, dry 14,000 tons, and bagged and general food goods amounted to about 75,000 tons.

In his statement to (LANA), “Al-Taher” confirmed that shipments of fuel of all kinds arrive successively at the port periodically without interruption, as between 3 to 4 million liters of fuel is emptied daily.

The port director indicated that the supplied quantities were unloaded after completing the legal procedures from customs, the Food and Drug Control Center and other relevant authorities.
