Director of the Maghreb and Malta Department at the World Bank calls for the adoption of policies that should be undertaken by the Forum of Development Partners in Libya

Tripoli The Director of the Department of the Maghreb and Malta at the World Bank, Jesko Hentschel confirmed that there are a number of broad policies that should be undertaken by the Forum of Development Partners in Libya, which focus on medium- and long-term support, and that the political situation in Libya remains fragile, which makes thinking short-term and forces institutions to think in the short term.

In a speech delivered at the beginning of the work of the Development Partners Forum – Libya – on Wednesday, Hentschel called for the organization of a forum every 3 months with the participation of international parties to rethink and take liberational steps and develop directions and policies for cooperation with the state, resident experts and other institutions, to develop a methodology that addresses development in the medium and long term, and determine the costs resulting from it and the effects of the Corona pandemic and the rest of the crises.

“When we look at the data we have collected by WFP standards, he said, adding that it showed that two-thirds of the population in Libya does not have food security and needs support from all parties, and this will become a target of this forum.
