Developments in Libya are on the table of the Italian, Turkish and British defense ministers’ talks

Rome- The Italian Ministry of Defense announced today, Friday, that Minister Lorenzo Guerini will hold a series of meetings in Istanbul with his Turkish counterparts, Hulusi Akar, and his British counterpart, Ben Wallace.

The ministry said in a statement that the ministers will hold a tripartite summit following their bilateral meetings to discuss measures aimed at achieving stability in Libya, the Eastern Mediterranean and the Middle East, according to what was reported by the Italian “AKI” news agency.

The ministers will also discuss the latest developments in Ukraine, in addition to the NATO mission in Iraq, which will be led by Italy during the coming period.

Italian Foreign Minister Luigi Di Maio met his Turkish counterpart Mevlut Cavusoglu on the sidelines of the NATO foreign ministers meeting in Brussels on Wednesday, where they discussed developments in a number of countries in the world, including Libya, in light of Italian concern about the continued deterioration of the situation in Libya.
